Lovely family run tavern. The facilities are simple, don't expect a mini bar but there's a great tavern and restaurant downstairs that all the locals seem to use which says it all.
It was hot so we asked for a fan which is important. You will need to get your own bottled water and so on. The 32 bus into Graz is right outside and very convenient. We would happily stay there again.

Excellent family run local Austrian tavern

we were staying down the road but went to the restaurant both nights we were in graz.  It was simple, yummy, no nonsense.  Good weizenbier, fantastic frites, and mozzarella, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, rocket dish.  NOt many vegetarian options but this one was fabulous.  Cash only so be prepared.

Great Traditional Austrian Restaurant

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and I was satisfied. First I tried speaking with my bad german but I quickly switched to english and it wasn't a problem with the staff, which acted really friendly and I appreciated it.
My room, which was just big just about right, had one fairly large bed, TV with loads of programmes (not just Austrian and German), a table with a couple of chairs, some places to store things and an appropriate bathroom.
Everything in the room was clean but the cleaning lady I stumbled upon had a problem with her english - just a really minor problem. On the other hand though, there was no aircondition which is not exactly pleasing but the building doesn't get that much hot even in the hottest of days.
One more drawback was the church nearby that clearly cannot be popular with those that like to sleep in the morning (like me). The bell got pretty wild at about 6 or 7 a.m. and didn't stop for at least a minute maybe a bit more. Windows did not help very much.
I only tryed out the kitchen in the morning during breakfast and everything was alright, I was even offered tasty eggs, no additional costs.
The location of the hotel is a bit of pain but since Graz is relatively small city, you can get to the centre within 20 minutes by bus. The bus stop is just right next to the hotel.
In general, I was pretty satisfied with my stay and all the minor problems can be forgotten. I had my privacy, enjoyed the food and can only make positive recommendations.

Not really close to the city-centre but otherwise excellent

Stayed here recently for a couple of nights.  I had a very pleasant and quiet room which was clean and comfortable.  The Gasthof is family run and you are made to feel most welcome.  Delicious traditional Austrian dishes available in a wide ranging menu with a good wine selection..  Would happily stay there again.

Ticks all the boxes

We stopped overnight en route to Croatia. For such a journey it's well located, to the south of the city; but less so if you are visiting Graz in its own right. Another plus is that nearby is a large public open air swimming pool. Room was  a decent size, and comfortable. No aircon. A nice ambience to the restaurant/bar area, and friendly staff and local clientele.
