On a ski opening weekend 17.12.22 - 19.12.22 in Heiligenblut, Austria. Very clean, comfy and friendly hotel/pension. What adds to the expected value: hearty breakfast, spacious breakfast room that turns to a cozy communal area in the evening (we watched the World Cup finals on a big screen with beer in hand), big sauna chalet in the garden (sadly we ran of time to visit it), free parking, extremely helpful and friendly management (I booked through Booking.com and this is the second time that the description of the booking doesn't correspond to the type of accommodation units at the booked property. Thankfully, we were offered an additional room for our second night and that greatly alleviated our discomfort). The hotel is situated in the quieter part of the village  and one would need a ski bus to the ski lifts, although I walked the distance every day and enjoyed it (10 min walk uphill). The ski bus was not operational as the main hotels were closed and the hotel management kindly offered us a car ride to the lifts. All in all I would definitely return especially in the summer; the local area must be stunningly beautiful at that time of the year.

Beautifully appointed and friendly hotel in the most picturesque village in Austria.

The pension is located a bit outside the centre of Heiligenblut but only 12min walk. The pension lays at the bottom of the Grossglockner and is perfect to explore this area.

The lady of the house is very friendly and can give you excellent tips on where to go hiking. Did some very nice hikes. The rooms are not huge but i had room enough. They have a balcony and there is free parking in front of the pension.

Summerholiday

Lovely hotel where we had a room with beautiful views - when we posted the photo from our room friends thought it looked like a picture postcard.

Friendly owner and the hotel was only 10 minutes to local restaurants.

I'm not a fan of Austrian breakfasts - too much bread for my liking and this one was not great.

My only criticism would be the room had empty soap dispensers and when on a trip like this across quite a few hotels and travelling a number of miles I rely on the room amenities.

I'd recommend the hotel though.

Beautiful view

Stayed a few days late May (a lot of hotels were still closed) and received excellent service, a nice room which was clean and comfortable as well as an adequate breakfast in the Austrian style. The helpfulness and warmth of the owner was delightful as was her cute little girl. Position is in the lower village so you have to hike up a bit to get to the small center but a good position for the start of many hikes in the area. Free wifi but a problem on the top floor. Great value for such a beautiful place. Recommend thoroughly.

Great Value

I do my research before Booking a pension/B&B/Frei Zimmer and Pension Lagler more then meet my expectations. 

The Pension is run by Angelika Lagler. Angelika went out of her way to make our stay superb. You can tell she takes pride in her Pension because it’s clean and well maintained. Plus, she speaks English. 

Our two rooms were on the top floor which shared a huge balcony and looked out over Heiligenblut. What a view! 

We had breakfast included in the price of our room. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a lot of variety, including fresh baked items. Better then hotel chains in the USA!

Angelika has a lot of photos on the walls of her skiing and climbing to Grossglockner. She knows the area and is full of great information. 

We will definitely stay at Pension Lagler the next time we’re in Heiligenblut.



Very Clean Pension with a beautiful view

One of the cleanest B&B places in Heiligenblut. It is an easy walk distance to and from the town. The views from this B&B were always beautiful as I am sure everything in this town is. The lady who runs the hotel is very good at her job. When my family was there, she was by herself and had 14 people in the hotel. It was spotless. Excellent B&B, and will come back in the future.

Nice location, nice staff, very competitive price. Easy to park. Staying here for second time in a year. About 7 min walk in to center of Heiligenblut. Good breakfast. Excellent base for trekking in the area So....would stay here again!
