We stayed at Hotel Kristall for one week during New Year 2017/18. The hotel is more of a simple bed and breakfast. It is traditional Austrian with lots of wood. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and sufficient to be stacked up for a great day in the slopes. The room was tiny for 3 people and there could have been more closet space, considering all the clothing you bring on a ski holiday. Water pressure in the shower was good, which is important. We also had a nice balcony with a view over the mountains. All in all, a great little gem just a short walk outside Ischgl center, which we really liked since it was very quiet during the evenings. Great for kids. 

Personal gem

Situated at the end of the village, right on the main road through the valley. Some traffic noise for the rooms on the road side because of that. Parking space outside, next to the hotel. Walking distance to village center. One could walk to the ski lift, but the bus is easier. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Skiing out is not possible (you need the cabin lift in village center to go up) but skiing in is, on a slope near the hotel. Langlauf loipes are on the other side of the main road. Neat hotel with clean and recently refurbished rooms. Maybe a little too neat. The hostess actively monitors everything that happens in the hotel and the rooms. Very focused on keeping the place clean and tidy at all times. Literally! That, in fact, is my concern. I did not feel welcome, but more a challenge to the hostess how to direct me and other guests in such a way, that the place stays neat and tidy at all times. I am talking about towels on the doormat to keep it clean, for instance. The rooms, beds and bathrooms are good. Buffet breakfast is good also.  The ski room is well equiped, but very small and extremely hot. People need more space to put on and take of their boots, while wearing their ski clothes. The wellness area is nice. It has different kinds of small sauna or wellness cabins and hot or cold footbaths and a large separate resting room. Because of the variety, the cabins are small. One might have chosen to put in less cabins and make them more spacious. Also, the footbaths and resting room were not used, when we were there. Would be anonther option to use this space for larger sauna or steambath cabins. What we realy missed, was a guest lounge or bar. In the offer that we received from the Ischgl Tourism department, it said that it would have a guest lounge, but it did not. Would be great to have a place in the hotel, to sit down and have a talk, drink or play some games. In my opinion, it could be a realy good hotel, but in the current state, I would not come back.

Could be a good hotel

Small, clean and friendly guest house. Very charming and helpful staff at all times. Rooms modern, clean and fresh.  All rooms have balcony views over the mountains.  Excellent buffet breakfast and drinks available in the late afternoon/early evening.  Very centrally located for the village centre and its restaurants and bars. Also only minutes to the three chair and gondola lifts. We were a party of 7 adults and teenagers on a family ski trip.  The owner Richard made us feel welcome at all times. We would definitely stay here again winter or summer.

Family Ski Trip

We stayed a three nights period in this Hotel on mid April on a skiing holiday.
The hotel is at the south end of the town. about 5-6 mins walking from the silvrettabahn.
We had a room on the sous terrain ,nicely furnished,clean ,just a bit too dark during the daytime ,but we didn t mind as we were out on the slopes the whole day.
Our mates had a room on the first floor and it was ok.
The breakfast buffet was very rich and wewere impressed by the way the owner,Frau Kleinhans,worried about nothing was missing...a very kind lady indeed.
Small but very nice Wellness area..very quiet as we were the only guests who accessed the aerea on sunday...relaxing!
They don t take credit card so make sure you have some extra cash on you on your departure day.
We will defo be back on November for opening of the Season concert.
