i want to make a balanced review of the hotel. It is nice and nicely decorated and the apartments are spacious with a fully equipped kitchen. I have to complain for the sofa which was very uncomfortable to be used as a folding bed.
The common areas are nice and well decorated, and the two girls working for breakfast are very helpful and pleasant. The owners are a bit more stand offish but ok. Not very eager to assist you with information though.
Regarding the ski in I will just tell you that once only we found our way to the hotel, and this was not exactly what you call ski in. Unless you enjoy being the cowboy in the Marlboro country this adventure is not recommended. There is no post going there so you have to ski through fresh snow or rather walk with your skis on your shoulder. There are creeks going through the area so you have to jump over them. Not only that but there is a barbed wire fence that creates a very long barrier, and you have to find a spot to jump over that in order to find your way to the hotel.

The breakfast is nice and they also make omelettes and stuff. 

nice hotel, but forget the Ski in

The rooms are clean and new, but the location is farther than 5 min walk to the center, it is more like 20 min. It has no housekeeping service and charges 25 Euro per hour for cleaning. Since there is no washing machine in the apartment, you are forced to pay 25 Euro per hour to have your clothes laundered. So it should not be called a hotel, it should be advertized as self catered apartments. A typical ski chalets in Europe usually provide breakfast, but they will charge 18 Euro per person, which is steep for a basic breakfast with no hot food. Upon arrival, after driving 5 hours from Munich, there was no water, shampoo, body wash. The size of apartment is great for family with children like us, but the place should not be called a hotel.

Not a four star hotel

I spent two and a half months in this hotel. Everything was great and very much home away from home...!!! Apartments were extremely spacious, well furnished and would accommodate 
 a whole family. The view from the room was incredible. We loved Hahnenhof and would definitely recommend.

Great Apartment Hotel

We spent 2 weeks at top3 apartment. Everything was great!!! Little hint for bookings - room 6 is at the entrance door, rooms 8 and 11 at the restaurant and ladies room :-) but it's for whom it matters

Great Hotel in a quiet position

We stayed at Hotel Hahnenhof over Christmas 2011 and were very impressed. We had the Top 5 Apartment and it was extremely spacious and beautifully appointed.  Each room had their own ensuite and was very recently refurbished.  The view from the rooms and the balcony was incredible. We did a lot of our own cooking and the kitchen was more then adequate - very much home away from home.  We found the service very helpful.  The location is a little out of town, and it took about 15 minutes to walk down the hill or around €8.  The lift car is about the same distance. There is a x-country track outside the hotel, but a lot of effort.  The hotel does offer a free transfer service to the slopes, but not back. It was on the higher price range, but relative considering the time of year and you would be difficult to find a comparable rate in Kitzbuhel.  Overall, we loved Hahnenhof and would definitely recommend.
