We were a group of 10 friends that stayed here and it was awesome. The place is clean, it has almost any amenity you might want for a week stay. It is spacious enough to accommodate a group like ours. Quite close to the bus stop. A nice restaurant is quite close-by. The only gripe I have with this place is that it uses access cards for rooms and kitchen and it's a pain to use them and make sure that you don't lock yourself out of the rooms.

Great stay for skiing

This was our first experience in Huben and in these apartments, so difficult to compare. The apartment was spacious enough that on the non skiing days it could accommodate 4 adults one adult guest and a small child without bloodshed. There are TVs if required and free wifi access for those who need to stay in touch with home, etc. It was delicious warm and there was lots of hot water. It is convenient for the ski bus to Solden and beyond and the post bus service into Langenfeld if desired. It is also a short walk to the small supermarket, that is well stocked and a delicious bakery is next door as well as a ski hire shop that stocks downhill and cross country ski kit. There is a cross country trail not far away. The thermal spa in Langenfeld can be reached by a scenic walk alongside the river that takes about an hour each way and is worth a visit, so this could be a good location in Summer for hiking as well as for winter sports.

The bottom apartment is a bit dark as another reviewer observed and one of the party struggled to sleep because of the light and the noise from the car park outside. Hard to know what to say to fix this other than recommending blinds rather than curtains and that other guests remember to be considerate. 

The owner, Vicky, was anxious to be helpful and was so ...very gemütlich indeed. Thanks.

PS One reminder for guests from the UK. Recycling is taken very seriously in Austria and waste separation is an art form with penalties for households that fail to comply. It is worth taking a look at the expectations before you start the business of chucking your rubbish into one bin in the kitchen ! Your hosts may get fined ! 

First experience was a good one

My family and I were back to Huben and we stayed at Garni again. This time it was a different apartment due to smaller size of our party. The rooms were good - one was a 2+1 person, the other 2 persons. There was a shared bathroom and kitchen. All was good just as it was before but I must admit I prefer the big option we took the last time - see the other review I wrote. I must be fair and point out things I thought were a bit less ideal too - the apartment we stayed in now is on the ground floor with windows out to the other B&B, street and rear car park space and so it means there is less privacy. You can always use the blinds but it felt more "exposed" than the 1st floor apartment. One bathroom is OK for a party of 5 but just. If there was a different age makeup of our group I think we would have struggled to share it in good time. This in itself isn't an issue - just a highlight that you will be better off (if in a larger group) to get the bigger app. Also due to the way the lighting was arranged this place felt dark - a change of bulbs would probably resolve it. Finally, some kitchen kit wasn't available - e.g. bowls, wine glasses and a kettle and some pans were in a sorry state of total scratch of their non-stick layers. Now this may have been due to a horrible group of people who were there the week before we arrived and who allegedly wrecked the place senseless. In any case and despite the observations above I will be happy to return to Vicky next year and stay in her home with my family and friends.

Another year, another stay

I was in Huben for skiing in March of 2014 and we have found this place online. After a few emails it was clear the owner (Vicky) was very flexible and advised us very well with regard to location, room size, amenities etc. The place is great for a bigger family or a group of friends who happen to enjoy winter sports together. We were there as three families (10 people altogether) so we got to use the downstairs "lobby" area which was great. This and Vicky's responsiveness made the deal for us. When I come back to do some skiing in Soelden I will definitely reach out to Vicky to book that place again. There is a small shop around, some play park for kids, a couple of restaurants, one of which will be a topic of my review so it is a nice self-contained village but you will need a car to get around especially when with kid(s) and/or skiing buddies.
