This accommodation is comfortable and well appointed but there is no plug for the sink, tissues, soap in the shower or tea bags. It does have an oven, hot plates and a dishwasher but no washing machine. The lovely balcony is within metres of a road that is relatively busy so it’s use is rather limited. The bed is rock hard and the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The location is not great as it is on the other side of the railway line and it’s a very noisy walk to get to the old town. The property owner does not speak much English at all so he gets his son to translate to the best of his ability. Credit card payments are not accepted and we found the owner quite condescending when we asked about the lack of heating. The apartment is well provided with heating however as it is a centrally run unit it’s operation is determined by the owner ie you just can’t turn it on when you want to. It’s pretty cold and rainy here now even though it’s Summer in a few days but the owner only turns the boiler on when he wishes to. He did provide us with a portable heater though and a thermometer showing us the temperature (and telling us to keep the outside door shut which it was). Lienz is an extremely busy and noisy place traffic- wise with copious numbers of heavy trucks, concrete mixers, tractors etc so if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing time, stay in the old town or somewhere else. Lienz was not what we were expecting.

Good accommodation 

Very nice and fully equipped apartment. The owners are friendly and done their best to make us feel at home. It is close walking distance to town center. The price is very reasonable. Skiing was great. We love Lienz.
