We been visiting Reiner for years now and come to love it more and more each year. Philipp, Oskar and the rest of the staff make you feel welcome and the food and drinks are excellent. We stayed here with a group of twelve friends and we were very well catered for. Prices are good and so it the location,  conveniently near the highway and close enough to the Bodensee for an early morning hike. We’ll be back.

Great travelers hotel

I stayed here as part of a trade show in Friedrichstafen, Germany. As the hotel is on the German border, it is a great option as it is only 30 minutes to the Friedrichstafen exhibition halls. 

Very quaint in the nice town of Lochau. If you are looking for anything other than practicality, you'll have to find it yourself. I.e. local attractions, what to do etc...

The hotel (as already reviewed) is part of a restaurant of the same name. With only 5 rooms on offer, you best book in advance during summer or trade show seasons. Very cost effective and nice accommodation for the non-fussy traveller. 

Staff are very friendly and helpful to the non-Germanic traveler. Breakfast (noramlly included) is typically Bavarian with lots of breads, meats, cheese and basic fruit options. You might need to wander down the road should you want eggs etc... 

If you like a morning run, this is ideal. You can run up and down the track parallel to Lake Constance. What a great start to the day. 

Some other points to note

- The hotel is just up from a church. If you like a sleep in, know the bell starts ringing at 0700... and then every 30 minutes after
- If you are using a GPS, when you arrive it is easy to drive right past. The signage can be a little challenging to see should you be coming off the autobahn. If you are coming from Lake Constance it'll be easier to see the signage
- Book for the restaurant if you want dinner. It is very popular.

Great option for any show in Friedrichstafan

This was something extraordinary. By booking a room in Brauereigasthof Reiner, as they have a check-in time til 10pm, I put a special request about late arrival at about midnight. As there was no response, I assume somebody will meet me, as it is quite typical in most of the cases. I arrived at the hotel at midnight as planed, but, unfortunately, there was nobody, the door was locked. So, I have to find some other place to stay overnight, what was quite complicated. And amazingly, I am charged for this in full!!!

No service at all

What a fabulous place! 
  What can I say, a historic building with all the amenities of the 21st century. The rooms are well appointed with an ultra modern bathroom without loosing the charm of its heritage. Besides good food and a tasty home-brewed beer you can always get free coffee or tea from the caps-machine on the corridor. 
  Breakfast is served at the bakery across the street and well worth the short morning walk. For us business folks there is also a little baggy so we can take those delicious buns and goodies on the road.
  Just a shame that on short notice, like most of my trips, there is no vacancy :-(
