Truskaller is a family pension, with 5 rooms. En elderly couple runs the place which is clean, tidy, heartwarming, and at a great location. The room we stayed in was nothing more, nothing less then a basic double room, but the comfort of the bed was above average. The breakfast was again nice and simple, just as everything else in the property. Definitely a good place if you don't want any surprises.

Nice and cosy

We stayed here for a few days before our trip to Vienna. It was an intersectional season, which affected the number of guests working in shops and restaurants. This guest house is a very good option for those who like to stroll and explore the sights. There are many roads and footpaths around that lead deep into the National Park. As for the hotel: It is easy to find from the train station, rooms are clean and spacious, very hospitable hosts, very good price.

Magical days in the Alps

It's a very nice place to stay, looks much better than in photos, owners very kind and helpful. Location is very good, close to everything you need: restaurants, shop, city centre, ski bus stop is right in front of the house. Rooms are confortable and clean. An excellent choice!

Great place to stay

This summer we were looking for a nice apartment in Mallnitz town, with internet connection available and someone able to talk english. Looking at the offers, we emailed the Pension Truskaller that on its site, promoted english speaking and free internet, asking for vacancy. They offered us a "nice apartment" in the "guesthouse Brucker", giving no further details. On the net no more infos too was available about. So, we believed being an equivalent accomodation and we accepted. Upon arrival, we discovered that "Brucker" was a small pension without Internet, on the outskirts of the village and none was talking everything but german! In the offer, Truskaller also stated that there were no additional charges at the end of the staying period. Unfortunately when we went to pay to Mr. Brucker, we found an "extra" in the bill: final cleaning! We complained showing all the papers we got from Truskaller and we was granted to not pay that, but it was not nice end anyway.
So, we would not advice nor the Truskaller nor the Brucker.v

a bad holiday

I wish I've had more time and come back and explore National Park around Mallnitz in Spring or Summer. Fantastic for backpacking. My spouse and I had fun skiing and relaxing in February 2010.  Good place to stay to have just that. Rest is up to you. Bad Gastein with it's busy night life or other nearby ski resorts made this trip interesting and has proven that our choice of Guesthouse Truskaller was the good one. Picked from the internet not knowing what to expect we found there peace, clean rooms and a great service. Hotel is run by Truskaller family dedicated to their guesthause. Place is affordable, quiet, cozy and defenately worth to visit. I will go back.
