I reserved a room for two nights at this place, because it was close to snow and mountain. First of all, be advised that if you are driving there from Germany, be prepared for a harrowing 60 kms of mountain tight bends which can be quite intimidating there at night, with locals driving ferociously.

My reservation was via Booking.com When I arrived, after five hours of driving, the front desk was closed. Someone came at least, but they struggled to explain in their hesitating English that they had cancelled my booking because they were unable to debit my credit card. Of course, they never informed me of this. Finally, they said they had a 4-person room available... Just the one I had booked, per chance. In short, they threw three persons + a baby in a tiny bedroom giving on a corridor and never even gave us a key to lock the door. When the crib arrived, we could not even move. And what a crib! The bars were falling apart, it looked dirty and used. In short, would have been better without it for the baby.
 
The beds had plenty of scribbling on them, often of sexual nature in German. They were bunk beds, and I guess I only slept because I was exhausted. There was no silence, no intimacy, no separation. The only window we had gave on the noisy corridor where other guests were passing, laughing etc. We blocked the door with our suitcases as we did not have any key.

The breakfast was decent enough. Theoretically, half-board is included in the package, but we did not avail of it. I was pretty annoyed though that considering this, there was not even a commercial gesture when we ordered a tea (charged 4 €!).

The price is quite high and corresponds more or less to one night in 2 bedrooms in a decent hotel in Nuremberg.

The population of the hostel is mostly youth who go to enjoy the skiing on the neighboring ski resort. The ski track is just a couple of hundred meters from the resort, but be advised that the neighboring parking can be covered with ice if it snowed. Finally, beyond that, the area (tyrol mountains) is magnificent and can be quite spectacular for photographs. We saw better snow and better lodging at other resorts closer to Salzburg, so I would most definitely give it a pass.
