It's probably not the Pension where to spend a week of vacation, but the structure is cozy (although the manager only speaks German), the spaces are wide and the breakfast served in the room is fresh and varied.

A little positive surprise

Great solution in the center of a characteristic village at the foot of the motorway. Large room with a small kitchen (there is the fridge, a microwave and the various dishes). Small, but functional bathroom (there is the phon). Very comfortable breakfast, which is served directly in the room at the time you prefer.

A very lovely, traditional Gasthaus with the nicest family running it.

I would 100% recommend to choose this pension if driving thru (like we did) or staying in the village.

Well priced and a simple but nice breakfast.

The big outlet center Brenner is only 30km from here so this is also a good place to spend the night if you plan to do a shopping trip. This is also a good option for a nights rest if you are heading to Italy. Much cheaper and cosier han Innsbruck or the northern Italy.

Lovely gasthaus

If you're looking for a place to sleep along the Brenner route, most of the "Gasthöfe" are roadside locations. The Pension Steiner in the middle of the charming little town of Matrei is located away from the road so that you can spend a really quiet night.
The owner is super-friendly and very helpful, the breakfast is hearty and delicious and the rooms are spacious enough even for a long stay. The furniture might be a little outdated, but the owner is still in the process of renovating the place and as people who don't mind old stuff as long as it's clean, we were absolutely content with the place. Wi-Fi Internet access is provided for free with the room and was working nicely.
The owner is planning an in-house restaurant, but since that wasn't there, yet, we took advantage of the nice city-centre location and checked out the Matrei restaurants in the course of a small evening walk.
Thumbs up from us, we'd definitely come back next time we're around!

Good value for money!

It's a cozy, quiet place. Good breakfast, discreet staff, they don't speak English very well.) and it's not very exotic.

It's welcoming.

Nice pension off the main road but very nice and quiet.   Room was clean and breakfast was nice.  May be more hectic in the winter rather than in June.  They recommended the Gasthof Lamm for dinner and was great (see my separate review of Gasthoff Lamm)

Nice two bedroom apartment type lodging

It's a boarding house with breakfast - the woman and the man in the house were really nice, the rooms were very simple and breakfast was unfortunately really very cheap. Having down beds in the summer is not really meaningful. The towels must have been on the hook for decades. At breakfast you had the feeling that everything was coming out of the package, even the bread. On the table was already covered with three slices of cheese and a few slices of sausage - whoever wanted to eat more would have had bad luck. Coffee and marmalade as well as (budgetjoghurts) stood at Buffett's, as well as the bread and butter. Let's just say, I don't always feel sorry if I'm in a hotel or a boarding house and then I'd have made more money than not, and then I'd have to make more money in this house, but we'd have to make it better with this place, and we'd have to make it better with more money in Italy.

Something too expensive

Pension Stainer is located 20 minutes by train of the center of Innsbruck. Considering that the hotel is around of 700 m of the train station, is not hard to reach the city. The village where the pension is located is really small and has few things opened in the evening. Nevertheless the pension next-door neighbour is a restaurante that serves pizza, pasta and kebab and is open until 11 pm everyday. 
The room is simple, but has a really comfy bed and a good and hot shower. I thought the internet would be bad there but we did not have any problem with that. 
That hotel and the village in general was so peaceful that we could relax a lot and have good nights of sleep.

Peaceful hotel

The hotel looks quite clean, the rooms are spacious and well-arranged (we have stayed in the apartment, with a lot of functioning kitchen, two bedrooms and a balcony). The bathroom has no bidet but a large shower cabin. The lady at the reception proved nice and willing to give us all the information we needed, they speak Italian and accept animals. The parking is adjacent and free, there is peace and quietness as the hotel is located in an inner courtyard outside the main street.

B6B is very nice!

The owners are a young, kind, open-minded couple, and they're ready to recommend places to visit in the very charming vicinity. Very comfortable four-person apartment, very quiet and very comfortable hotel. We stayed from 8:08 to 11:08 in 2014.
