The Postresidenz apartments are beautifully furnished and spacious, excellently located in the centre of town, and are linked to the adjoining Posthotel which provides a reception, breakfast (for a small supplement) and other services.

I've visited Mayrhofen to ski with friends twice, and stayed both times at the Postresidenz (we loved it so much the first time we came back, and hope to make a third trip!). Mayrhofen is a great town and a superb ski area, but the accommodation really made it for us.

Postresidenz is located in the centre of the older part of town. There is a small supermarket opposite and many hotels nearby. The main lift is about ten minutes walk (recommend renting one of the excellent ski lockers under the Penkenbahn from Intersport). It's reasonably quiet at night (we occasionally heard the church bells or the supermarket deliveries in the morning, but the nightclubs and noisier bars seem to be nearer the ski lift).

There are a number of different apartments of different sizes, but they all seem to be very spacious, warm, and furnished to a high standard in a modern style. Most or all seem to have balconies. Some of them include a private sauna in the apartment, which was very nice.

The kitchen is well enough equipped to cook and eat in the apartment, although there are lots of restaurants nearby and the option of getting breakfast on the hotel if you prefer not to.

The staff and reception desk have always been extremely helpful, and helped us out with things like booking restaurants and storing luggage so we can ski on arrival/departure day.

Mayrhofen is a reasonably large town with lots to do. The ski area is big and well connected, with plenty to do for skiers of any level. The apres-ski scene is some of the liveliest I've come across (in the usual Austrian style), but it's easy to avoid if you prefer something more civilised.

Beautiful apartments with hotel services. Great ski holidays.

We stayed for 5 nights in a 3-bedroom apartment.
The apartment we received was new and well equipped.
We arrived in 2 cars and got 2 underground parking spaces at no extra charge.
In addition to the 3 bedrooms, one of which had an additional bathroom and toilet. The apartment included a living room, dining room, bathroom, toilet, private sauna, utility room and kitchen that included: microwave, oven, refrigerator, electric kettle, espresso machine, dishwasher, cutlery, plates, and glasses.
The apartment included bed linen (no daily cleaning), towels and bathrobes with daily exchange service.
The service is provided at the reception of the POSTHOTEL, where you can eat breakfast at an additional charge.
There is also a ski room.
The wireless internet is free and very good.
Ski passes can be purchased at the hotel reception.
Opposite the hotel, there is a supermarket and a bus stop that leads to Mayrhofen's ski lifts.
The hotel staff is very nice and very attentive.

Pleasant vacation in an excellent apartment

My husband and I had a very nice stay at Posthotel Mayrhofen. We stayed in one of the apartments (Enzian) It was a spacious apartment for two persons. We liked the interior and furniture very much. The kitchen was well equipped with cutlery, pots and pans. There was a nice balcony to the apartment as well.
The hotel is very close to everything; supermarket, main street, restaurants and the “Penkelbahn”.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is understandable that this hotel has got very good recommendations. We will definitely recommend a stay as well.

Wonderful stay in modern well equipped apartment

Two of us stayed here in a one bed apartment for two weeks in Jan 18 on a ski trip. Lovely place, big open plan living, kitchen, dining area, comfy sofa which I assume opens out as a bed. Separate bedroom, big bathroom off with shower and bath. Almost brand new and spotlessly clean.
There is a big storage hanging area just inside the door for all outdoor gear which is extremely useful. 
Ski bus stops just outside or a 5 min walk to the station which is the key to getting the best out of the Zillertal area.
Very warm with undefloor heating and radiators.
Fast and free Wifi, big TV in livingroom and smaller one in bedroom with USB inputs for movies etc.
Supermarket just across the road for supplies. Kitchen area is small and suitable only for the preparation of very simple meals. Good oven, full hob and microwave. Also a nespresso coffee machine with capsulesavailable at reception. 
Loads of restaurants close by.
Breakfast and a small bar also available.
Good ski room with boot heaters and laundry facilities in the basement.
Very friendly helpful staff on reception. The apartment is vacuumed every few days and cleaned weekly. Towel change on request.
Noise at times from the street with the windows open (We sleep with the windows open for a cold bedroom), especially very early supermarket deliveries and church bells but silent when windows closed.
Nothing not to like, it's at the upper end of the price range but you get what you pay for. Would definitely book again if we come back to Mayrhofen.
