Six of us stayed at this guest house by allocation on arrival nice one Inghams!...so not our choice from the start. It is in a very handy location close to the main lift area in Mayhoffen and its other good feature was it cleanliness. Rooms were a decent size, nice and warm and  ours had a good view of the mountains and a large balcony.
However out of three double rooms booked one had toilet & shower one just a shower including electric light in the shower!!..  the other room  had just a basin. Four of us shared one loo on a landing with no ventilation  window! You can  imagine the odor in the mornings! 
Breakfast was adequate, cereal, rolls, meats, cheese, jams, coffee, tea, and an  egg twice a week. 
The hosts attitude was one of the most rude, unwelcoming and unfriendly I have ever  encountered from  any hotel or Guesthouse and her attitude stayed this way throughout our stay, acting the same way to every other guest.  You almost felt that you were intruding on her life  rather than feeling welcomed at your holiday accommodation. 
The owners also lived in the guesthouse ground floor and there was a fairly constant  smell of cigar smoke and cooking smells wafting  into our rooms.  One evening I mistook a cheesy smell as my room mates ski socks drying on a radiator ....only to realise it was  the smell from some cheesy meal the land lady was cooking,  filtering up into our room! Once we got used to ( Joked about  )  the land lady's manner and sharing the loo and shower we had a good time. Mayhoffen  is a great resort  ...but an easy smile  and a couple of loos would have made it all the more enjoyable !

Can I use the shower... its mine use your own...I dont have one!

As with other reviews of this guest house i have read, I can only agree that the landlady needs some serious lessons in diplomacy and that RUDE !!  is almost an understatement, none of our party of six were made welcome in any way shape or form. She did NOT want any of us or other guests of varied nationalities in her property, and made sure we were aware of this.
Only one room had modern ammeneties such as toilet & shower!!, the rest of us had to share with anyone else on that same floor, and even others from another if they so chose to use our designated toilet.
For non or reformed smokers take note that the owners are heavy smokers & it stinks ( i smoke!!) our room was above their sitting room so we had the full monty from it.
The only redemption available is the location which is first class for both lifts & apre .

Hold your breath.

Upon arrival we were met with an incredibly grumpy landlady who barked at us not to bring our snowboards into the property (we werent to know)
She told us to take them downstairs to the bootroom (which is tiny and stinks of cheese) where upon she appeared again and barked at us not to leave our board bags there.
We then walked upstairs and was greeted with an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke.
our group was 6 guys and we had booked 3 x twin rooms, when i entered room No: 1 it had a shower and a toilet, the other two rooms we were allocated only had beds with no showers or even toilets which i think is pretty basic these days. First breakfast morning was the usual grumpy landlady and fairly basic fare i.e rolls, cheese, ham, cereals and jam, when we asked for a boiled egg she told us we only get an egg twice a week!
On the morning when it was Egg day wewent down for breakfast at 8.55 (Breakfast is served untill 9.45) where she didnt even greet us and walked in and out of the room 4 times without acknowledging us, suffice to say we didnt get our 1 egg allowance that day!
Having said all of the above its only reddeming feature is its position which is really handy for Ahorn & Penken lift and also the best Apres-Ski bars!

Rude Landlady!

If you want a true Austria welcome this is not the place to stay. 
The hostess Anjelika from the start was unwelcoming and being honest a little bit rude. She made it very clear from the first encounter that we were inconveniencing her by even checking in.  
The breakfasts were nothing to write home about. In fact we noticed that on some mornings other tables got given meat and cheese that was never offered to us. Another morning we did not get eggs as she said she'd run out.
If you are a non-smoker be warned that the place reeks of cigarette smoke. When I arrived home I had air my luggage to get rid of the smell. Another guest staying there at the same time as us also mentioned how unbearable she found the stench of smoke in the guesthouse.
The rooms are basic and a little run down but on the plus there was always hot water and the showers are powerful which helps ease tired muscles after a day skiing.
The only positive about this guesthouse was the great location. So if it's only location location location that you're after then this place is for you.

It's only about the location with this Guesthouse

I have stayed here for my week-long ski holiday for the last two years.  My friend and I vowed we wouldn't go back and then ended up booking it again as it is so cheap and so well located.

The pros: 
Location - it's just up the hill from all the main apres ski bars and both main ski lifts from the resort.
It's cheap.
It's fairly clean and warm.

The cons:
The rooms are pretty shabby and in need of updating.  
The whole hotel STINKS of smoke as the owner lives on site and must smoke like a chimney.
The owner, bless her, is rather blunt and acts as if you are inconveniencing her by staying in her hotel and having breakfast.
The breakfast is a pretty poor selection of stale bread, ham, cheese and cereal.  (Would be nice just to have some fruit or yoghurts).  Oh but you DO get an egg once a week.

Still I can't hate it that much as I have stayed there twice now. It's great for a cheap and cheerful ski holiday. If your idea of a ski holiday is a day on the slopes and then relaxing in a jacuzzi before getting up to a delicious breakfast, then this is not the place for you.
