This is the second time we have stayed at the Rathauskeller Melk. This was a last minute booking due to other thinks being cancelled. We were greeted by Semona  who was incredibly pleasant, helpful, polite and efficient while we were checking in. Her high standards of customer care continued throughout our stay.  We had an evening meal in the restaurant,  which was very busy but didn't deter the waiter from providing an excellent and pleasant service. The food was top rate at a reasonable price. The room was clean and well furnished. There was a good range of hot and cold food at the breakfast buffet.  All in all a good experience and we will be back. Thank you

Excellent experience

The hotel located very close to city hall and the city center, so the location is perfect , the (free) parking is near by, and the best restaurant in Melk is in its base floor. The room is nice, well isolate from the street noise. The One and only drawback is the WiFi that couldn’t be accessed from the room. 

Nice hotel in a nice place

What a great little hotel this is. The location is perfect, we had a room at the front and our window looked straight up at the Abbey. Great atmosphere, comfy bed and spacoius room, its all we need.
The restaurant down stairs was great and served a good breakfast

Great location in the middle of the town.  Grocery store and bus station were close by. Food was good.  As for the room, the bed was so bad, the first night I slept on the floor.  The mattress was way too soft and sunk down in the middle. Not sure if the mattress was that old and worn out or just cheap. No independent lock on the room door. To lock your room you have to use your room key and lock yourself in. Parking lot space can be iffy.

We had a wonderful 4 day break with our English family in this lovely hotel in the centre of Melk. The deluxe rooms were modern, clean and well equipped and the hotel food was excellent. The restaurant was full at both lunchtime and in the evenings and we had to remember to book a table to sit outside and enjoy the warm, late summer evening. There were also many locals frequenting the busy restaurant which was a good sign we thought and the management and staff were always extremely friendly and helpful. Melk is a lovely little town with its imposing Monastery and the very beautiful region along the Danube. It is certainly worth visiting with lots to see and do, we will certainly go again.

A place worth visiting

If you are going to stay in Melk than this is the place to stay at!!  This lovely hotel is located right in the middle of town!  The rooms were just as nice as they are in the photos and extremely clean!!  We had a delicious dinner at their restaurant!!  Would highly recommend eating there!!  The best thing about this hotel was all of the wonderful people who work there!!  Thank you for a lovely stay!!
