I’m a blind skier and travel with my blind friend and we both travel with our guide dogs. This hotel is quite simply amazing in every way...the hotel is beautiful, the staff cannot do enough for you (including booking vet appointments for dogs as per EU animal travel laws) and taking care of them when i’m on the slopes, the food is better than most bespoke restaurants i’ve been to (including veggie and vegan options) the location is breathtaking and plenty of running for the dogs who go crazy in the freezing snow!!! There is a bus that stops outside which takes you to the ski slopes. What else can i say “i love this place...book it now” GO TEAM BLINKY BLINDY :) oh yeah great hot-tub too ;)

Simply the best...

Birgkarhaus Hotel is wonderful. The hotel and rooms have been excellently and tastefully refurbished to provide a cosy, relaxed place to stay. We requested a completely vegetarian menu and the chef Rob impressed us each day with fantastic and varied food. The team were cheerful and attentive and did not mind at all when we turned the lounge into a yoga studio or the spa into a massage treatment room. We enjoyed hiking to the restaurants and the views are amazing. This is not just a hotel for the ski season - if you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful place to stay - this is it. Well done Birgkarhaus - completely satisfied customer.

Bespoke girly trip - July 2017

There was a group of us on a 'retreat' involving yoga and skiing. The team at the hotel were without exception spectacularly supportive and amenable where nothing was too much trouble. The overwhelming feeling was that we were staying at a friends house but with the benefit of a bar! :-)

Yoga Ski Holiday - February 2016

My husband and 2 children returned yesterday from a week at the Birgkarhaus, our second stay there in 2 years. We are avid skiers and have stayed all over the world in various ski hotels and lodges. What a wonderful gem this is: from the lovely rooms (almost all have a great view so make sure you ask for one) to the amazing homemade cakes served after skiing; large screen film nights for the children; a good sledging hill on the lower slope a minute from the front door - and only 2-3 mins drive to the slopes. We were made to feel very much at home by Ben, Sophie, Dorota and the team - it really is like staying at a large guest lodge with friends. Excellent value for money. We will be back.

Outstanding in all areas: original, cosy, excellent food and location

Just got back from a lovely stay at Birgkarhaus. We were so sad to leave after a week of being looked after by the wonderful staff. 
The food is a particular highlight- Ben the chef is a genius! Every night was delicious and we all looked forward to it after a day of skiing. 
The recently refurbished rooms are cosy and comfortable with lovely thick duvets and pillows. We stayed in the apartment which is ideal for a family because of its private sitting room and our very own Christmas tree. 
I would recommend hiring a car as there are so many places to ski from and we also went back to Salzburg (under an hour away) for one evening to visit the charming Christmas market. The short transfer from Salzburg makes this hotel the ideal destination for short weekend trips as well as longer stays. We could access high altitude skiing at the Kaprun glacier (also under an hour away) as well as the local resorts (Muhlbach and dienten are under 5 minutes drive away).  There is loads of skiing for all levels and it's easy to park everywhere. Forget the days of awkward transits to the slopes. 
We had previously visited in the summer which is just as lovely and brilliant for hiking and biking. 
If you're a looking for a low-key relaxing trip, in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere Birgkarhaus is perfect.
