Went for Christmas to this hotel and travelled with our daughter.  The suite was lovely and spacious and lots of wardrobe space.  The staff were really super especially in the restaurant very attentive.  The breakfasts are amazing with so much choice and freshly made omelettes etc.  The evening menu was varied with the option of salad bar and amazing desserts.  You won’t leave feeling hungry!  Really loved staying here and hope to return next year.  Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Christmas at Crystal Vaya

This is our 2nd time at this fabulous hotel.  The service and quality of accom is first class and we can’t recommend it highly enough especially for families with children 

The food is incredible, with a stunning breakfast selection and 5 course a la carte evening meal.  Children can pick and choose from that menu or switch any courses for more child friendly options like pasta and schnitzel with fries etc.  We have a 9 Yr old child with a peanut allergy and she has been so well catered for, eating mostly a la carte all week.  

The pool and spa area is top quality, though gets busy after ski school.  

You can buy ski passes from hotel reception, then the hotel is about a 5 / 10 mins walk from ski school and you can hire all you need from the Schrieber hire shop and boot room in the basement.  Just making life a little simpler for busy families.

First class in every way

We stayed at this hotel in half term week. Reviews had made us a little cautious about booking half board so went bed and breakfast, with the intention that we would have a few evenings out and pay the excess a few nights to eat in the hotel.
We thought the hotel food was amazing, breakfast was very plentiful and something for everyone. You may struggle if you had particular dietary requirements (example array of breakfast cereals/muesli/granola but all signs written in German). Evening meal was 5 course and had a choice of soup and main course. Good standard of food and presented well. We have 3 children from 7 up to 12 and they would eat from the main menu, occasionally switching to ice cream for dessert. 
Boot room amazing and connected to the ski hire shop, which was connected to the gondola. Possibly the best boot room we have come across. The hotel is about 4 min walk to ski school. 
Swimming pools also good, indoor and outdoor. I used the gym and also of a high standard.
Rooms modern and clean, good views. Great showers.
Two criticisms: Rooms were hot at night time. No tea time snacks. 
We found all staff helpful and friendly.
We would definitely return to this hotel.

Hotel exceeded all expectations

We stayed here for a skiing holiday. The hotel is on the edge of Obergurgl, so not great for apres-ski, but the centre is only a few minutes walk. The hotel is positioned right by a gondola, so practically ski in, ski out. As the gondola is out of the centre, that mean hardly any queues, so easy to get up the mountain. The boot room and ski storage is spacious, well-organised, and heated.
The split- level room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage, and a balcony. A Nespresso coffee machine was provided with capsules, but no milk. It was impossible to get plain white coffee in the hotel(except at breakfast when it was self-service) without having to ask for milk at least twice. Small criticism, but it was irritating. Dressing gowns and slippers are provided.
The staff are fantastic, without exception. Friendly, professional and very good at their jobs. The food is amazing. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want, with omelettes cooked freshly to order. Dinner was 5-8 courses, beautifully presented and with quantities calculated to leave you full but not uncomfortable. You could eat multiple desserts and however much cheese you wanted. All excellent quality. 
There is a good spa included, with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and steam rooms-some for family use and others adults only. 
I would happily stay here again.

Excellent! Highly recommend.

Apart from one noisy night from some businessmen, an excellent stay. Good location, nice food, friendly staff, great indoor pool and outdoor "bath". Used Lohmann for skis, slightly better deal than others, and they deliver and pick-up from hotel boot room.

March Skiing

The hotel is in an excellent position, next to the ski bus stop and the lift. There is a ski shop attached to the hotel. The leisure facilities include indoor/ outdoor pools, saunas, steamrooms etc.
The rooms were warm with comfortable beds.
The food was varied with lots of choice and the wine was very good. The restaurant manager, Thomas, was friendly and efficient and was ably assisted by Maria.
The bar needed to close at 10pm due to covid restrictions, but was a good place to relax and had a lovely open fire.
We would be very happy to stay here again.

Lovely holiday.

Very good hotel. Staff was very friendly. Room was very big. Pool and sauna very clean. Hotel takes you directly to the ski elevator. Also valet service when you arrive at hotel , so you can relax when you arrive.

Skivacation

We stayed in the Sportiv even though the rooms were a bit dated they were wonderfully clean and well maintained. The staff could not do more to help you they were all super friendly. The buffet food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent serving an Austrian twist on many British classics. The  waiter Thomas who looked after us all week was brilliant and could not be faulted. The spar facilities were the best I’ve seen in Obergurgl with 3 pools and more sauna/steam rooms than you could want. We had one slight issue which when we told the hotel about they could not be more apologetic and more than made up for it. 

If you come here you will be well looked after and have a great week!

Faultless Stay

Location is great. The ski hire shop(very helpful) is integrated into the hotel and the Festkogelbahn is next door. The buses all stop at the lift station every 5 mins, so it's quicker to jump on the bus for 5 mins to Hochgurgle and get the gondola up than take the gondola that joins Hoch and Ober if you want to ski Hochgurgle. There's also a supermarket opposite. the hotel is  ski in, although I only skied back down once as we did a couple of days in Solden and Hochgurgle and it was just as easy to finish skiing there and get the bus back.The rooms were nice and I found them quiet. Could have been a bit more space at the end of the bed when the wardrobe was open instead of the fairly large seating area which we just used to dump stuff tbh. Nice and clean. Towels too small as usual in a ski resort hotels, I would take a couple from the spa and use them in the room, they were much bigger. The loo in the bathroom which I don't like. We had standard double rooms.. The food was great, yes some of the options were a bit fancy, but there was so much choice, you could always have more simple foods whenever you wanted. the buffets starters for example were extremely varied fresh and plentiful. there was always a comprehensive array of cheeses to try. The breakfast was superb. The wines were also great. We used the pools and the spa most evenings and particularly enjoyed the display sessions in the panorama sauna where the host adds scented crystals and water to the the sauna and then fannedthe guests with a big fan or towels. Was a bit weird at first but worth a look. You can be naked in the adult section of the spa area where there are all sorts of saunas and steams and relaxation spots, but also wearing a towel is fine. The bar was pleasant and there was big TV room just off it for watching some football. The bar staff were a bit lacklustre in remembering room numbers and issuing bills. The reception staff were helpful as expected and ski passes and lessons can all be sorted out at reception. It's a big hotel with capacity of about 250 beds so don't expect intimate Austrian charm. However its a very well run and service orientated 4 star hotel that I'd be very happy to stay in again.

We found the service outstanding, both friendly and attentive. They always remembered specific dietary requests and were very accommodating. The resort is great although maybe not the easiest for first time skiers.
