This quaint Hotel is tucked away in the foot hills of the Austrian Tyrol, just a few kilometres from Füssen, near Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany.

We chose this hotel as we have previously stayed in Füssen, and found the hotels there to be a little overpriced for what they are - I think you pay a premium for their closeness to Neuschwanstein Castle, but as we were travelling by car that benefit is minimal.

We arrived extremely late to the Alpenmotel, which was no problem for the owner, who was extremely accommodating. We were provided with a code for the key box which worked perfectly.

The beds were comfortable, and both rooms we booked were spacious with lovely appointed, immaculately cleaned bathrooms, which both had excellent shower water pressure.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, as we hadn’t expected it. It was in a lovely dining room, typically styled as most are in this area.

We would definitely visit here again, as we were made to feel very welcome by the friendly owner. Perfect if you are visiting Neuschwanstein Castle or the surrounding Austrian Tyrol.

Nice Hotel with very friendly owner who speaks fluent English

It is located in a beautiful, small and quiet town in the mountains.The room we stay in is very comfortable with an incredible view.The hotel staff is excellent, they are super friendly and serve a delicious breakfast.

Super friendly service, lovely friendly staff, very delicious breakfast, a rich selection, very clean even the bathroom, family business with atmosphere, child love, family friendly - we're back! - it was all perfect - it's very rural you have to drive something about 15 minutes, for us no problem.

Very friendly, family-run hotel/pension

We arrived late at the Check-in and were greeted with a smooth, very pleasant and rich breakfast, and they helped us to visit the castles of the mad king and his father, who was our reason for staying there, and we dined at her recommendation in a very peculiar place with typical Tyrolean food.

For a long time I have not heard the bed/mattress crackle every time I turn around in the bed. Bath 70s and breakfast in the standard area and nothing more.

A nice hotel with an additional guesthouse. We had booked a night out on the way and got a room in the guesthouse. First of all, the staircase was already very clean. The rooms are in the style of the 70s and have a certain charm. Here too everything is very clean. To welcome you, there were two free 0.5 litre water bottles on the table. The bathroom is equipped with green equipment. The bathroom with shower curtain. Here too everything is very clean. The silicone tubes are all new and without stains. Here, absolutely everywhere, absolute cleanliness is respected. The rooms are partially equipped with balcony. The breakfast room in the main room does not allow any washing. The dishes are available with different kinds of broths and the bathroom is also very clean. We also recommend that the house be completely cleaned up and that the cheese and the egg rolls are also perfectly clean. We also recommend that the house be cooked on the surface.

Picobello clean rooms with 70s charm

Very clean, although a little older, super friendly reception by the Schleichter family. The breakfast buffet is very rich with various fruits, buns, bread, cakes, eggs, bacon, everything you can wish for. Thank you very much for the nice stay!

Highly recommended

Cheick-in service is very nice, you get all necessary info about the nearest shops and restaurants. The interior of the hotel and the room is great. Breakfast offers good variety. The windows are sound-proof. Free parking on the street. 
There is no elevator; no fridge; not possible to enjoy quiet evening at the balcony because of the noise from the highway; no playground for children.

I can’t beleive how cute this place was. We were after a cute BnB in a small village and this was exactly it!! 
Upon entering the room the view from 208 was amazing! I have even uploaded a picture. 
It’s a ten minute drive from the castle which was nice. You can walk around the surrounding area and feel the nature. 
The car parking is no drama which was refreshing after our last place. 
The breakfast was delicious and exceded my expectations. 
The staff were warm, friendly and gave the feeling of a family run business. 
The bed was very comfortable and the shower had amazing pressure which these two factors are important to me. 
There is a small local run restaurant which is a three minute drive away or 30 minute walk. It was very nice!!

Exceeded expectations

The rooms are clean and spacious, the owners are very kind and willing to give information about the places and activities available in the vicinity, a strategic place to move between Bavaria and the Tyrol.
