Been visiting Murau for years and regularly eat at Schafferwirt. Really friendly family run gasthof with good food and nice environment. Good selection  of home made food and reasonably price. Have also stayed here and offers good accommodation

Great and friendly service

Our family room was very good. The room is warm, clean and large enough with 3 children too.
They are cleaning the rooms every day and leaving fresh towels too.
The breakfast is very good with super fruit juices, homemade jams and fresh and crispy breads.
The restaurant is super, everybody can find a tasty meal, our favorite is the wiener schnitzel with salads.
We will come back in this year again.

Very good family run pansion near Kreischberg Skicenter

I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend and some friends 5 nights...including new year's eve. The experience was very positive! 

The hotel is located in Murau (Austria), very close to a sky station (5 minutes by car)...the slopes are great!

Important, cleanliness is a priority in this hotel! The rooms and the bathroom were very clean. Also note that rooms and the bathrooms are big, and you can adjust the temperature of the heater for yourself. This is not a luxury hotel, but the quality of the facilities is excellent.

The food service was very good, especially the dinner (we were given a wide array of different options every day...all meals were excellent). The service was also excellent...very friendly (in fact they make you feel home!), and always timely and efficient. Also, people in the hotel speak English.

Things to take into account (nothing to worry about...just minor issues)...The breakfast was kinda repetitive: few choices and always the same. Also, note that you may have connectivity problems (internet not always works)...But again, nothing to worry about because the place is very good!

Overall...a great experience in a very good hotel!!

Great place!... friendly atmosphere and very good service

We spent 4 nights here in December and had a great time. Fortunately there was no music in the dining room :). It was a family outing, and since we have food allergy issues, we asked them if they could accommodate us and they could and did cook a separate meal for every dinner, provided lactose and gluten free stuff for breakfast. We had the half-board accommodation, and the food was good quality local stuff. Filling and tasty, and there was even one or two vegetarian choices.
Only the owner speaks English with any reliability, but everyone was very helpful and friendly. 
The rooms were spacious, clean. We could adjust the temperature for ourselves. 
The bathrooms were also nice and surprisingly big.
We went there to ski, and it is only 5 minutes from the slopes and has a heated place to store your boots, you don't have to take them up to your room to dry them out.
Not a luxury resort, but a good guesthouse.

Nice, family friendly place, good basic food, very basic English

We spent three nights at that hotel. We occupied two rooms. They were extremelly clean. We had beautiful view on the river Mur and magnificent rock. Dinners were excellent and very delicious. Family Schafferwirt was extremely pleasant and friendly. The location is ideal for all types of skiers. There are 4 ski areas around there however, we visited only Kreischber, which is about two kilemetres from the facility.
