On our trip from Passau to Linz our first stop... a family-run hotel with excellent food and a very nice boss... just to recommend a point draw for the room... a little old, but everything very clean

Family-run hotel and restaurant

I can only taste the restaurant, because we stayed at another hotel, but the food was delicious, the drinks were delicious, the service was really good, and the terrace was very comfortable.

Dinner is great.

During our Danube bike tour, we stopped here. Great hotel, great apartment and an even better host! The children enjoyed it very well! Good luck, great breakfast, thank you very much!!

It's a great hotel.

We came here for beer tasting during our river cruise of Danube with Avalon Waterways. Its location was great right on the banks of river. We had a great time sitting in the restaurant tasting different type of beers. The restaurant and lobby area was looking very good.

Nice hotel !!

On arrival at the hotel we were told that we could not stay at Goldenes Schiff hotel although the booking was confirmed before. The hotel manager assured us that we be given equal accomodation in another hotel nearby. We contacted our travel agent, a round of phonecalls was made between our agent, the local agent and the hotel. We had no choice but to accept the alternative accomodation. When we were dropped at the pension it was immediately obvious that this was not equal but far less. Again phonecalls were made and again nothing changed. Since our luggage had to be picked up the next morning in Goldenes Schiff, the owner assured he would pick us up the next morning at 08:30. When he did not arrive at 08:50, we phoned him and he came up with bla bla story. Making apologies are not part of the hotel managers skills. We have never been treated so rude. Later on we discovered that at least 3 or 4 other couples got the same treatment. Via via we learned this hotel manager apparently accepts early reservations for 1 night to overbook them later when people make reservations for more nights. I hope the local agent Donau Touristik stops to make bookings for cyclists along the Danube river.

Due to overbooked room we were dumped by the hotel manager at a lower ranked gasthouse.

Positive: the room was overwhelmingly large and the food was also negative: the reception was totally unpleasant. Important information was missing. The hotel is right on the Federal road and is very noisy. The breakfast was bad. Hardly any choice and zero service. The elevator was also out of service.🏻

Noisy and not very hospitable

We've been here for 1 day and really very positively surprised! The room is very large and clean. The food was super (snitzel/potato) large portion. The salad was made with love and the waiters are very friendly. There's nothing to put on breakfast, freshly pressed o-juice, coffee to my liking. The host also politely asks if we need anything else or are satisfied.👍 After reading some critical reviews, we're a little unsure. We can't confirm this in any way.

Holidays

Great location on the Danube, easy to find parking, as it is right on the Danube road, large terrace, very nice, well-maintained interiors, nice rooms, nice and neat service, good kitchen. Groups are also served relatively quickly. You are happy to come back.

Good location on the Danube road. There's nothing to complain about at this hotel. But there's also nothing special about it: a good choice without disappointments and no highlights. I would choose this accommodation again. Plus: plenty of breakfast buffet options.

Solid accommodation, nothing to complain about

We were with a large group. Admittedly, there were two dishes on the plain card that were good but this is pure gambling. The large part was absolutely not recommended. Small portions. For a golas for over 15 euros there were five small pieces of meat. There was generally a lack of spices and it gave the impression that it was not freshly cooked. The service was overwhelmed despite reservations. There is much more beautiful for less money in Passau.
