The restaurant outside was lovely and the staff very friendly. The food was excellent! 😋😋The wine was delicious. It was busy but they found us a table and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal. Very convenient 250m from the centre nestled under the vines. Also very good value.

Amazing food on a lovely terrace

The people running the hotel and their staff are such lovely people, so welcoming and friendly

The hotel is very traditional, no A/C but it's quaint and everything you expect from an Austrian traditional hotel.

It has a really friendly feel to the place and we would definitely stay again.

3 of us stayed here while cycling the Danube cycle path.

The people were friendly, the room was well appointed and spacious, and the cuisine was traditional and  fantastic. 

Highlyrecommended to any travellers. 

Wished we could have stayed longer

This hotel was booked as part of a cycling tour.  From the moment we arrived we felt welcome.  The rooms were clean and spacious and the water hot!  A booking was made in the restaurant for our group of 8 and the meal was well presented and delicious.  Food and wine were reasonably priced and as a result the restaurant was busy.  I was concerned about the reviews about the noise from the trains but it did not seem to bother any of us too much.  It is a short walk to the main square.  I thoroughly recommend this guesthouse.

Delightful

We stayed here as part of a cycling tour.  The hotel is close to the village center and in walking distance of the local supermarket.  The hotel is quite rustic, although clean and welcoming.  the rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished.  A welcome bowl with crisps, water and a snack was most welcome.  Breakfast was OK, it seemed like the bare minimum was put out on the buffet and was replenished when done, which caused a few delays.  Eggs were available, but had to be ordered, which caused another delay.  We had a set evening meal which was lovely, and well cooked.  the hotel was sufficient for our needs however not overwhelming enough to warrant a return trip.

Welcoming stay

Nice comfortable beds with good wifi access. Nice enough shower. Only a little disappointed by some rotten fruit left in a bowl on the table. Otherwise breakfast was good.

This was a little way from the cycle trail but the town was easy walking distance when we had dropped off our bikes.

Pleasant stay

The friendly staff was a small bonus for this very pleasant hotel on the edge of Grein just under the castle. In this location, it is quite tranquil with the exception of the train, which apparently only carries commuters, as one comes by pretty regularly until around 8 or 9 PM and start again a few minutes past 6 AM. However, it is very quiet overnight. If trains rolling by within 200 meters is disturbing and a late sleep-in is desired, then the window must be closed. The room we had was moderate, but more than adequate, in size. It was also quite clean and comfortable. I was definitely pleased with our stay.

Very pleasant stay

We got to the hotel after our longest cycling day and we were welcomed with great staff and wonderful dinner.
We were travelling as a group of 8 adults, we were directed to the warehouse to store our bicycles and were welcomed to a semi-private room for dinner. The menu was excellent and the quality of the food was very high.
The rooms were nice, in the specific room I stayed in, the shower itself wasn't so clean which was disappointing.
The staff were all very helpful and tried their best to assist us in any question we had.
