We stayed there as part of an Oak Hall group holiday. 
Although the rooms are a little "tired" and dated (random collection of towels and rucked up bedroom carpets) this family run hotel is great. 
All the rooms have balconies (ours overlooked the front) with the rail track and church bells - but this didn't disrupt us. The scenery is just breath taking!
Food was both generous and varied. 
And all the staff friendly and helpful. 
Really a great place to stay!

Great family run hotel

Although the décor in this family-run hotel in a little tired, you couldn't wish for a better base from which to explore the area.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with ample hot water to rejuvenate you after an energetic day walking or traveling.  The food is home produced, tasty and plentiful.   The staff are very friendly and many speak very good English.  They will go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, from changing meal times to booking taxis to get you back after an evening out at the local concerts.
Located in easy walking distance to the local train station (request stop), it is easy to get around and there are plenty of leaflets available in the hotel with suggestions of where to visit.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

A great base from which to explore.

this is a good hotel with clean room and in good position just in front of a small railway station. The hotel offer a good buffet breakfast. I boocked a very convenient half pension room: with this option i get also a buffet dinner with just 10€ more.
It's funny that internet is not free: you have to pay for get the wi-fy!

good but no free wifi!!!

This hotel has an amazing location! Both the beautiful views and the proximity of the train, the lake, the waterfall and some shops eg a supermarket and souvenir shop make it an excellent base for exploring a wide area of this region. 
We accessed the train to Mayerhofen and as far as Innsbruck as well as enjoying a walk within the town to the waterfall and a great music night out at the Village Beer Hall!
The rooms are certainly old fashioned, but I don't mind the decor when the view from the balcony is great! One thing that would've been perfect would be air conditioning in the rooms as in August it was hot!! Still there is a nice terrace outside to sit in the shade and you can get beer/soft drinks when the bar is open. 
The food was plentiful, hot, yummy and served with a smile. We were allowed to make up our own packed lunches for the day which is ideal. 
As with other reviewers, we travelled as part of an Oak Hall group and thought that all our basic needs were met very well. Would certainly recommend the hotel and this stunning part of the world to anyone!

Beautiful Base!

Although this hotel is situated perfectly for outdoor pursuits and particularly skiing as it is opposite the Zillartal railway. This railway is superb. On time & efficient . 
The hotel looks lovely and is very warm.
However, I would advise you to take a travel kettle as the hotel do not provide one. When I specifically asked the management to provide one just for my room it was refused. In fact it is impossible to get boiled water after breakfast until 5pm when the bar opens. However, if you take a flask the management are happy to fill it at breakfast with boiled water. So you also need to take your own tea & coffee etc. I find this incredible in this day & age.

I would also advise you to take your own towels . I was provided with a threadbare large but not bath towel. This was not changed during the week . Not good enough!

The shower in the bedroom was an integral tap / bath / shower but I couldn't turn the cold tap on so it was impossible to regulate the shower temperature .

There were no plugs for the sink or bath!

Food was plentiful but insufficient fruit and a lack of variety posed a problem especially for breakfast & desserts at dinner for those with a gluten & dairy intolerance!

So - take your own kettle, flask, mugs, drinks, fruit & towels so you will enjoy your holiday .
