Stayed here last week in March 2019 and had a fantastic week.
You could think that because it's getting near the end of the season that the staff would be a bit worn out by now but no, they were brilliant.
They could not have been nicer. Emily, Aisha, Jo, Grace, Kyle (bar man), Dermot (driver), Rachel (hotel manager) and Charlotte (resort rep) were a credit to Ski Total. Apparently Ski Total do not have the hotel next season as it is undergoing a refit, which is a shame.
The hotel may seem a bit out of the way however, the company provided a taxi service  morning (8am to 10am) and late afternoon (4pm to 7pm) to ferry skiers/boarders down to and up from the main liftstations of Gaislachkogl and Giggijoch. Dermot the driver was excellent at doing this and it was no bother to him however many times you needed him!
The food was excellent as well. Cooked breakfast for all but one morning (the usual in a chalet), and afternoon tea as well as having cake and biscuits also had home-made soup (cheers to Dan the chef!). Evening meals were an excellent variety and topped of with a variety of wines, not just a single red or white (even had rose!).
The rooms were very comfortable, if a little traditional (ok, a bit old, hence the refit coming up), but more than adequate. Our room had a new bathroom with a lovely powerful shower. We had a balcony with great views. The room also had flat screen tv with international channels and specific channels showing the webcams and weather info from all of the main mountains around (inc Obergurgl/Hochgurgl).
Overall a fantastic stay in this great little hotel. The staff certainly helped make this a fantastic holiday!!

Staff were excellent

Lots of things were good about the stay here and in particular the room was large with a beautiful view and very large balcony.  The food and service were good, breakfast was efficient with a cooked option available every day except staff day off.  Dinners were generally to a high standard.

The chalet is slightly tired but I understand will be refurbished soon and it is slightly inconvenient to be on floor -3 and having to go up in the lift, across a road and in through the basement of the main building.

The shuttle service provided by Dermot was good in the mornings but the chalet is not ideally situated for ski in/out convenience and a little way out from the main town.

Better than average for a chalet hotel

The Good: It’s a nice hotel, well run by Rachal and her team. Evening meals are varied and tasty, served at a set time, breakfast is either a typical buffet/juices/cereal or cooked English breakfast – all very good. Rooms are large and comfortable (ours was on the second floor of the main building) shower water was always steaming hot and at high pressure (many hotels that I’ve been too can’t manage this!). Communal areas downstairs are comfortable and relaxing, WiFi is free. Quiz night organised by Charlotte was fun, day-trip guided skiing was well-worth the €30. Dermot provides a drop-off or collection service from the hotel in the morning and afternoon – it’s not a personal pickup service.

The not-so Good: Evening meals were served on cold plates which meant the food cooled down by the time everyone in our party were served (we had to ask for food to be warmed). Same went for cooked breakfast in the morning. Wine is poured which meant we had to call the waiter over all the time – just leave the bottle on the table! Vegetables were often over-cooked and not enough for our party of 7. Table staff are clearing up around you as you eat your evening meal – think they were keen to get off, whilst we liked to sit and chat amongst ourselves. Dermot can be a bit abrupt – when busy in the mornings, you may end up at a drop off point of his choosing (I know, it’s not a personal service). They prefer that you rent equipment from Intersport, so don’t expect to find them helpful if you have a pre-booked equipment hire from another provider. Staff at Intersport were unhelpful – make sure you know what type of equipment you want to hire – it’s also very expensive. Boot room is outside of the hotel, down the steps under the hotel – it’s not secure. WiFi doesn’t reach the second floor. For our all-male party, rooms were not twin bedded but double bedded - make sure you share with someone who you can ‘sleep’ in close proximity with.

The down-right UGLY: Bed linen – mattress protectors were disgusting – Ski Total need to address this, it’s simply unhygienic. Take an extra fitted single sheet if you have room in your suitcase. Rooms were not clean and aren’t cleaned during your stay, although the pillows are puffed up and duvets folded each day. Not so sure that male staff members should be using the hotel bar as their personal drinks’ dispenser. Friends of staff visit the hotel in the evenings and will congregate around the bar, making it difficult to get served.

I would have rated this review much higher but for the few comments made in the last paragraph. I found that Rachal and her team provided a good service.

The good ... the bad ... and the down-right ugly

Overall I was happy with this hotel. Staff were excellent and very friendly. We used the minibus shuttle service.. Dermot you're a star.  Food was excellent although we had to request a bit more veg (for 8) each time. We had a few light bulbs not working and the safe was jammed and these weren't sorted. Hotel was very warm and the sauna/ steam room also too hot ( which you might think an odd thing to say)... Had to hose the seat down in the steam room before sitting.   Solden was excellent and I'll post a separate review.  Possible to walk to town via a furnicular. Bus stop outside (didn't use). Short walk to a red or black piste to catch one of the two gondola. Possible to ski back fairly close to hotel.  Need to go outside to get to boot / ski room.. ski hire shop pretty good, right by a main godola which is handy if you want to change any kit and they ran a shuttle first day.   Overall, happy.. just a few niggles with the room... Would use again.

Early Feb ski trip in group of 8

The best catered ski chalet hotel we have stayed in. Very friendly and professional Ski Total team looking after us, great food, especially the evening meals, good quality wine generously served. Our room was very spacious, significantly exceeding our expectations. The location is a little way out of town, but actually this is a good thing as it has a touch of the stag destination about it. A short walk and ski takes you to one of the main lifts, or the `no56 bus leaves from directly outside every 45 mins. The 9:00 am bus being well timed. we had a superb week and highly recommend Ski Total and this Chalet Hotel.
