The location is ideal, a 5 minute walk (in boots) to the lift. The hotel is small and not luxury, but does it all well considering the price.  The breakfast is great, the dinner is very good for the price (but very meat oriented without options, though they might make accommodations if you say vegetarian in advance).  The drink prices are high.  The soul of the property is the Danish manager & wife, who are the best!  He even performs music in the afternoon.  The hotel caters to the Danes, so is usually booked.  There is even a sauna/dampfbad available.  We hope to return soon if they have an opening.  The wifi stinks, though, requiring constant login and many failures.

Great value, wonderful

I repped for a group staying in this hotel and the service was absolutely fantastic! Jan who ran the hotel was so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for my group staying in the hotel. The food was delicious. Hotel was clean and nothing was too much trouble!

All in all its a very nice hotel with some minor changes that has to be done in my opinion. The staff was super friendly - i mean really really kind and service minded. The breakfast was also above expectations, but nothing beats the dinner the danish chefs made for us !! It was over and above our wildest expectations - really really tasty. Please give my credits to the chefs !! Rooms need to be taken care of. All kinds of smaller amendments need to be done otherwise they will get critical over time.

50 meters from the chairlift !!!

We had a very bad experiense with this Hotel.
We are a family traveling together, and did a reservation for 1 family suite (4 persons) and 1 dobbleroom (2 persons). Allthough we did the reservation 7 month before our arrival, the hotel gave us the dobbleroom on 1 floor, (the family suite vas on 4. floor)
We asked for a room closer to the suite where our children was, but the hotel staff told us it was not possible. Ofcause one wants to have rooms close to each other when travelling together, and if this is not possible, it is expected that the hotel inform about this on the reservation day. 
Not even was the db. room on 1. floor, but it was very bad located, dark, under street niveau....no view and I mean NO VIEW at all. The toilet was in a seperat room without ventilation and without sink. That means you need to go out from the toilet and into the bathroom to wash hands and ... 
I suggest the Hotel rate there rooms. The bad located rooms, to a smaller price and descriebd as not god located rooms.
The family suite was nice and big with 2 db rooms, siting area and view. but lack some comforting service: eks an electric watherkeddel for the-making.
Another thing not well enought working, was the breakfast buffet.
It is open until 11 o`clok, but only people coming before 9 are abel to get a croussant. They did not baked enough.
I suggest, If you absolut need to go to this hotel, ask for a room on 3 or 4 floor, and because the food are very average...go for dinner in some of the very good restaurants in the other hotels.
The staff of the hotel were very smily and friendly but that do not excuse the lack of regards for the guests.
Alle the hotels in Alpendorf are rated as 4 stars hotels, also Hotel Rothirsch, BUT it is not in the near of 4 stars. I will give it 2 stars with arrow op.(the arrow just because the family suite is big ). It is a plus that the hotel is near the Capelbahn, but on the other hand so are the other much better hotels also.

Middelclass  hotel, not good enough.

It was a bit tricky to find it, but when we did, a very friendly staff welcomed us. So the first impressions was nice.
The food was EXCELLENT! I mean, the dinner- wide choice a la carte', very good service and cozy atmosphere. And Chef came to each table after dinner for a small talk. So nice of him!
And New Years Eve dinner they made really special!

Veeery good location! 5min walk from ski-lift, close to apres-ski bars. Although, the village is so small, everything is reachable in 15mins :)
Downstairs enough space to leave skis, snowboards and boots to dry during the night, but no place where to leave clothes. There were only one heater in room and one in bathroom, so it caused small inconveniences as we were there for snow fun, and dry clothes are important.

But Hotel has very nice sauna zone. Except, there were no jakuzzis available.. :(

In general, we really enjoyed our stay in Rothirsch!
