An amazing hotel. It's our second time at the hotel.
The service, ran by Kruzer's family, is excellent, and all the staff is very attentive and helpful
The restaurants and food in general are wonderful, there's a lot of variety and everything is fresh and tasty!
The spa is amazing and especially Claudia the messuer. We enjoyed our time and can't wait to come again 

Amazing hotel! Highly recommended 

Without a doubt, this hotel offers best food in the region, perhaps even Europe. Location is fantastic. Rooms are rustic. Spa is the weakest point as it's small and should be cleaned more than once per day. Worth it! 

Excellent food and location

My wife and I started our trip to Austria in Vienna, then on to Salzburg and from there to Parkhotel Tristachersee in Lienz.  What drew us toward Lienz was the desire to drive along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.  What drew us to Parkhotel Tristachersee were the reviews of the Hotel, specifically the hospitality, the spa and the high praise for the food, as some reviewers aid, an epicurean delight.  Moreover, since, during our trip, we were staying in hotels in cities and needed to find restaurants for dinner every night, the thought of simply walking from our room to dinner sounded calm, peaceful and luxurious.  Well, was it ever.  I will start with the meals.  Breakfast and dinner were served in the dining room, which is bright and airy and sits, in part, over the lake.  The views are to the mountain behind the Hotel and the Alps in the distance.  The breakfast buffet has everything you could ever dream of.  And, it is all fresh and much of it is locally sourced.  Lunch is also served, however, at least for me, breakfast kept me going all day, that is until dinner.  Words are hard to describe the dinners - but I will try -  Perfection.   Everything, the variety of wines (especially the selection of Gruner Veltliners), the salads, soups, entrees, vegetarian options, and the desserts, yes the desserts, were excellent.  Top quality ingredients and chefs who know how to cook.  Sated and Happy is an understatement.

The spa was also wonderful.  Plenty of space to relax plus wet, dry and infrared saunas, a pool, showers.  A note that the pool area requires a swimsuit.  The saunas are clothing optional although I did not see anyone with clothes on while in any of the saunas.  Different for an American, but frankly I found it to be relaxing and liberating.  I also had not one but two massages, both with Claudia.  She was terrific.  Ask for her you will not be disappointed.  I do not remember the name of the woman who gave my wife a facial but my wife said it was one of the best she has ever had.  

Lastly, the hosts.  This is a family run hotel.  It is not one of those impersonal chain hotels.  They are gracious and while this was the first time we visited the hotel, we were treated as if we were regular patrons who had been coming there for years (which, I suspect, many, many people do).  

All in all, two of our favorites nights in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.  Thank you Kreuzer family.

     

An Oasis in the Tyrol

An exemplary hotel - here everything is just right! The rooms: friendly, spacious, clean, very well equipped. The food: phenomenal, better than we've ever eaten in a hotel. The bar: cozy. The view of the frozen and snowy lake, the forests, the mountains: romantic. The management and staff: very friendly, competent, courteous. One of our new hiking trails was flawed - we got a baked one right away.

Little Paradise - very big!

It was a picturesque and dreamlike place in the middle of a forest, mountain and right by the lake. Our room was right on top of the water. Very quiet. On Sunday evening we enjoyed an excellent 6-course menu. Great wine recommendation. The host received the guests personally. Very warm and sincere. Breakfast buffet very good. Dss Ambiente in the Winter Garden was not so appealing.

Wonderful, dreamlike place right by the mountain lake with excellent cuisine.

Excellent kitchen, great buffets for breakfast and even dinner. Competent service. Price is right, even if the rooms are in need of partial renovation and are being poorly cleaned.

It's a great kitchen.

Unfortunately, I accidentally adjusted my restaurant rating at the Tristachersee/ Leisure Activity - so it comes here again, in the right place! We had a very good lunch at the Tristachersee restaurant in July. The selection was very large, the dishes were all presented very nicely, the quality very well. Especially nice was the table on the covered and windproofed terrace overlooking the small Tristachersee. Also the staff were very friendly - we are happy to come back!

Fine food in an idyllic environment

What a wonderful little village in East Tyrol! We spent three nights here in two studios with a balcony. You immediately notice the wonderful location of the house by the Lake Tristacher. The house is designed with a lot of attention to detail - for example, the beautiful fish ponds that you can see from the rooms with a mountain view. Very quickly you also notice the great atmosphere and the excellent service of the family business. The senior and junior chef are constantly attentive to every detail. The absolute pleasure is the wonderful kitchen - an incredibly good half-pension, the skin level. Very flexible is also the enthusiasm for intolerable fish. The remarkable quality. And the vegetation has not only tolerated the taste of vegetables and tartar but also the taste of the vegetables.

WOW - the surprise of the year

Covid had prevented us from returning to Tristachersee for a couple of years. It was a joy to stay enjoy the hotel again. Herr and Frau Kreutzer’s daughter, Marie-Therese, is now at the helm and is continuing a great family tradition of superb hotel-keeping. Food and wine were, if anything, even more delicious. And, of course, the position of the lovely thermal lake is very special.

A special hotel in a special location

My gluten intolerance was taken very seriously and the waiter and the kitchen were still trying to give me the best possible choice.
