Where to begin with this hotel. First off, I need to say I was a little worried about some of the negative reviews. I am glad I didn't pay attention to them. My experience with the Intercontinental Vienna began a week before I even arrived there, with an e-mail and a subsequent phone call from one of the lounge team asking if I had any special requests for my stay. As this whole trip was a birthday present for my wife, I informed them of it, but really didn't have any special requests. Arriving there, I was happy that they recognized my status with IHG One, and I was very impressed with how polite everyone was. Our room was ready early, and we went right up. The room was beautiful as was the whole hotel, the hallways, etc. The room is nicely furnished, what one would expect in a city like Vienna. My wife was delighted to find on the bed a towel arrangement in the shape of a birthday cake, wrapped in ribbons saying happy birthday. Later that day we received cake and a card with beautiful birthday wishes as well. It was an unexpected surprise. Housekeeping and turn down service were wonderful as well. The lounge is just beautiful, with a wonderful view, great breakfast, and most of all an incredible staff. We also went for breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and while there were some more food offerings, we preferred the coziness of the lounge. Everyone at this property is extremely polite. The concierge was especially helpful with arranging concert tickets and extremely knowledgeable about goings on in the city. If I were to nitpick about anything it would be maybe that there were not enough usb charging station, but we managed just fine without them. The wifi was good. Not lightning speeds, but it was consistent with no dropouts and sufficient speed. I totally recommend this hotel, congratulations to everyone that works there and to management for running such a well oiled machine! We will definitely be back!
