Great staff and funky venue in an interesting part of Vienna. Good walkers will manage the travel in and out of the main tourist areas and there and nice restaurants and bars close by. Beautiful room for the well priced breakfast. Coffee and tea available all day. Car parking available about a km away and drop off at the front door.

Cool place for a short affordable stay

Hotel nicely situated away from main city centre to make your stay nice and quiet and the journey on foot a bit more interesting to reach the various locations of Vienna with lots of local bars, cafes and restaurants at hand on the doorstep. Loads of local and very frequent transport if required too. A beautiful spacious large bedroom with a neat ensuite complete with shower and all styled in a traditional vienese decor. The hospitality from all the kind and friendly staff is excellent and make it an extra special experience and more reason to return.

No wonder you fall in love with Vienna !

We had a great stay at the Urban Stay hotel Columbia.  We arrived at night but the instructions were clear and our key was easy to find. Breakfast was lovely, self service with a great variety, delicious breads, cold meats, preserves, eggs and a good coffee machine too. The rooms were large and our shower was fantastic, with L'Occitane toiletries. We found the staff to be very helpful.

Lovely hotel

A disappointing experience. The use of the word “hotel” for this property is really a misnomer. It is more properly considered as a pension/B&B, but it doesn’t really pull off being either a hotel or a pension. The former implies staff support and help. The other usually indicates a warm welcome from family owners. This property has neither. It’s essentially self-service, with the sole staff member often disappearing for long stretches, which resulted breakfast items often not being restocked and long waits to check out.

If you book here, be sure to request a room that doesn’t face the street. Buses come and go until around midnight and bus passengers are often boisterous and loud. There is no air conditioning so you may have the choice of a stuffy room or lots of noise.

The property has it’s good points. Rooms are clean. Location is pretty good. Many nice and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. But on balance we wouldn’t recommend.

Disappointed 

Beautiful little hotel with just 10 rooms, very close to Vienna's city centre. Everything is organized to make the guest be independent, self-check in, check-out, with basically no contact with the staff. The room was nicely deocrated and spotless clean. Located in a very elegant neighborood, on a wialking distance from the main attractions.



Great stay

This hotel had very poor service, firstly there was no sign to say how to enter the hotel and there was no-one to great you when you arrived, the key was just left in an envelope with your surname on it. The staff treat you poorly and we where not welcomed at breakfast time for which we paid 44 (11 euros pp) euros and the breakfast was just a slice of toast and either tea or coffee. On top of that the staff that was around where dressed in tracksuit pants and a jumper as if that just got out of bed. and the rooms where and had very minimal service. I would not recommend to stay at this place

Not a family friendly hotel

I can imagine some travellers finding it hard to take care of themselves while being abroad. Yes, you check in without any assistance but, hey, we were informed by the hotel owners well in advance. The hotel (there's no other word for this place than 'hotel') is in the eight 'bezirk' and is really easy to find by tram and/or bus (there's a bus within crawling distance).  
We had a great stay here; staff were friendly, our room on the first floor was clean and quiet, breakfast was local, plenty and in time. And, first and foremost, the bed was really comfy. The restaurant on the ground floor of the building and the wide variety of dining places in the bezirk were a great find. 
Short message: this hotel beats the Viennese tourist traps that call themselves 'hotel' hands down.

A great place for your Vienna experience!

At first, this is not a hotel at all.
I have seen no one from the staff during our stay.
Reception was empty all the time.
Parking is rather distant and if you travel with bags it might be problematic for you to load/unload your luggage beacuse of the traffic.
Rooms were very loud, it feels like you hear everything besides the walls and door.
It is dog frienly but almost no greens zones nearby to walk with your dog.
I could not say that location is good, it is rather far from main attractions of Vienna.

No Service, Nobody, very loud.

We booked three months in advance, one werk before we got the notice that our room was unavailable due to the hotel overbooking the rooms. The hotel did not offer a compensation or other hotel room for us. The hotel did not reply to my message on the voicemail asking for assistance. 
We had a hard time finding another suitable place in Vienna at such short notice. 
The hotel looks great in the photos but be careful.

Hotel kicked us out

Staff was friendly and attentive - we were even able to check-in super early which we were incredibly grateful for after a night train journey. The room was very bright, comfortable, clean, and well appointed. It was also larger than we expected based upon the photos. Our windows opened to a back courtyard which was very peaceful.

We had mixed feelings about the location. It was a bit of a long walk to the nearest tram near Rathaus so we typically walked or took an Uber to most of our destinations.  It was about a 30 minute walk to Stephansplatz. There is a bus on the same street as the hotel that stops at Vienna Hbf which we did utilize. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is fairly quiet but there are a few cafes and restaurants tucked away.
