We visit the Gasthof Bacher with friends who have three children.
It is a very big restaurant with some separated rooms. They have got a beautiful “ Bier Garden” that for sure it would be fantastic in Summer.
So we thought that the little kids would actually enjoy the garden. Unfortunately we had to stay inside.
In any case it is beautiful inside too. The children got to play anyway.
The food was fine. Traditional Austrian dishes.


Nice Gasthof.

We came specifically to Austria on New Year’s Day to spend some time on the snow and  to eat something simple and typical. That’s exactly what we got. We had frittaten suppe and wienerschnitzel and it was very good. Simple, typical, tasty. We finished our meals with crepes and apfelstrudel. Yummy. The staff is quite friendly and prizes are affordable. We didn’t stay for the night but spent a cozy couple of hours in a nice place, eating good food. 

What we were looking for

We were only transiting, so it was just a night with breakfast.  The staff was very polite and helpful, and even though we came around 22:00 and their restaurant closed they were happy to let us know where we can find something to eat (Wirsthaus Josef).  The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable.

very quiet and refreshing

The restaurant and menu has not changed in 10 in years. The food is still good but no longer do Vanilla sauce with the Apfel strudel. There is a huge smoking section but the non smokers are separated in a different room.

Needs some updates!

My husband and I recently stayed a night at Gasthof Bacher.  Our room was large and overlooked the restaurant area and across the surrounding fields.  We were made to feel very welcome, as was our small dog.  We were quite tired after a long drive so we decided to have dinner in the restaurant, which I must say was really nice.  The hotel was almost at full capacity on the night that we stayed however our room was quiet and we did not notice the other guests.  The only disappointment was the breakfast as the food options were quite limited.
