Dear Cornelia, because of Corona, we had to postpone the appointment several times. when we arrived at you, we were speechless... the whole ambience was a dream. my husband and I are both in the construction industry... you have created a paradise. also our dog... an old gentleman, was warmly welcomed to you.. for that we say extra thanks. we have known the watch for many years, but you have created a place that leaves no wishes open. we wish you the best for the future......... stay healthy and so warmly.

Host with Heart

After nearly a year of the lockdowns and staying at home it was so good to visit the Wachau Valley again... We booked a wondeful room in the newer addition of  the gasthaus and could not have been happier.. tastefully decorated  and loaded with features ( Cnn and BBC on the tv, small kitchen with  fridge  and a REALLY comforable bed...) it was the perfect place to return to after a days walking in the vineyards along  with the   heroic eating and windrinking this area is famous for.....We had our dog Nika with us so we weren't able to rent their e-bikes this vist which are a blast...Cornelia puts out an oppulent breakfast though this time we self catered and enjoyed ours  on our private terrace with its lovely view.. We will certainly be back!

Great to be back!

We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed our stay very much.. We had one of the older apartments but it was certainly big enough for 2 people..to say the least. ( There is a newer addition which is really nice). breakfasts were very good  and it was a pleasure to have them in the garden.. We enjoyed the excellent local wine in the evening on our terrace with its view of the old church and the beautiful hills of the valley.  They offer e-bike rentals which are a blast.. Going up hills is a breeze and you can cover plenty of miles in a few hours.. The bike paths through the vineyards are spectacular.. Our host was very obliging and arranged for early check in  and reservations for Sunday lunch at the excellent Heinzel as well which was very nice.. We will be happy to visit again...( I was happy to find CNN as well!!  )

We were in Wachau for the third time over Easter and we really enjoyed the time there. The area is very, very nice, absolutely relaxed and stress-free. Since the Wachau is quite small (30km on the Danube), a central location was important for us so that we wouldn't need a car. Instead: hiking and e-bike. We had the large holiday apartment with 2WC and bathroom as well as kitchen lines: everything very generous with plenty of space and very nice equipment/equipment. The rooms were very well maintained and clean. For breakfast we could get ourselves a bun in the breakfast room and on the balcony. For the bike tour we very much enjoyed renting directly from the guesthouse E-Bikes. Uncomplicated. Thanks to the net, we can organize everything well and everything in general.

It's a great holiday home.

The hostess is very friendly and makes a great effort to make your stay very pleasant. We had a modern, fairly new apartment in the back of the new building, which was even cleaned daily and was lightning-clean. Everything needed was there. Right behind that the vineyards begin. We had breakfast and didn't regret it. Of course fresh pastries, homemade marmalades, farmer's yoghurt were the highlights. Whoever is looking for a clean apartment, wine from their own winery and a friendly, very hard-working team to look after is right here. We're happy to come back.

Very friendly hostess, lightning clean, modern apartment

My friends and I stopped in at the local bar and Ava, and Maria invited us to sit with them at the community table.  We enjoyed local wine and apricot schnapps.  The owner invited us into the wine cellar where he shared vintage grappa not on the menu for sale and vintage schnapps.  Great experience, would highly recommend.

Very nice hosts, beautiful and modern well-equipped rooms in the new building, good breakfast in a family atmosphere, and the great location right in the White Churches, so the heuriefs are close by.

Good accommodation with large clean rooms nicely decorated and well serviced. Delicious breakfast. Entry to the hotel is a little hard to work out out as there are large double door with signs and note with phone number on them which we took to mean no one was in and we had no phone to call the number. This is not the door though. You need to go to door way in left and up the stairs.

Nice place, beautiful town

Very lovingly cared for, the apartments in the new building are large and nicely furnished. The young host family makes sure that you have nothing to lack. The breakfast buffet is rich, small details like the homemade birch pots help in a beautiful morning vigil! A place you like to return to!

Guest house as you wish!

Schmelz is located in the heart of the charming historic village of Weissenkirchen, a few hundred metres from the Danube. The village is close to Krems and Melk, and Vienna and all of Lower Austria are accessible. You can stroll through the vineyards from the village. The location is perfectly quiet. The tenants belong to a family of winemakers who have reorganized their house to accommodate tourists. The small garden with small pool is on the first floor, the rooms in two wings overlooking the garden.
