We have been to Wildanger once before in winter and loved it, so we decided to go back bug for a summer holiday. Guess what the hotel still awesome, live the service, the breakfast and it's great value too. The valley is soon different in summer, it's pure nature, we did a lot of walking uphill and in the valley. The great thing is that you always find somewhere to stop for a drink or some food. The hotel is in a great location, it is nice and quiet and very clean with great service. We had a double room with a balcony and the view of the mountain across was breath taking every morning. They also have a great terrace for lunch or some of there delicious home baked cakes.

Great hotel for summer and winter

This is a great place and incredibly reasonable at 60 euros per room inclusive of breakfast.We stayed here for 3 weeks after finding details on the net and wanting a quiet place so we could go walking without great expense.Our double room was light and airy with pine furnishings,t.v.(satellite), extensive storage space and a seating area with sofa and chair.A balcony overlooked the stream just ahead and the mountains and vast range of walking paths which started just outside.
Bedding (down duvets)was changed regularly as were the towels and the room was serviced daily.It was immaculately kept.
The Pension is a Konditorei and cafe which serves light meals in its beautiful restaurant.No,it's not noisy as it closes early and there is not much random custom.
Breakfast is great with a range of rolls,hams, cheeses, fresh and tinned fruits, buttermilk, freshly baked cakes, pates, jams etc.
The clientele is local and German and standards of food are very high indeed locally.
There is a sauna, solarium and gym on the ground floor and lots of outdoor and enclosed parking.
Ski slopes just ahead with a local chair lift and ski hire.
The valley bus is free to tourists and although we had hired a car, we hardly needed to use it as we bought a 2 week lift pass and walked or bussed everywhere.We drove from munich but apparently stuttgart is even better.

The walking is well signposted with lots of small huts to eat in with fabulous local cheeseand much else besides.Cyclists are well catered for and cycle hire is just opposite the hotel.(This makes it sound like a busy place.Zoeblen is actually tiny.)
Tannheim( 2 miles away) has a large ski lift  and lots of good restaurants including the Dorfstube,Der schwarze Adler and the local brewery is great for a rainy afternoon.The Zugspitze just above the hotel Wildanger is good too;take your time walking up the hill...the views are worth it.It's nice to walk to Schattwald(1 MIle along the river) and eat at the alte Post,don't miss the inside areas..fascinating.
The hotel Wildanger is a family -run,delightful place and we will go back as often as we can.The Gehrings do everything they can to make your stay pleasant and ,really, the English have not yet discovered the area.The cost of living in the area is low.A top notch meal for 2 with a quarter caraffe of wine and a beer was often around £20.


immaculate place and stunning views

This is a traditional austrian hotel with nice rooms and a perfect location to hit the slopes. A nice terrace at the sunside allows to drink a perfect beer after the skiing.
Breakfast is between 8-10 and supplies all the necessary ingredients for a nice day of skiing. Most rooms do have a balcony, but you have to make sure beforehand with the owner that you indeed do reserve such a room.
For the night only a small dinner card is available, but other restaurant places are nearby.

Perfect location to hit the slopes

Stayed here for 2 nights 3 days. It is nothing special but it is clean and the owners are very nice and considerate.  Hotel needs some work but it is a work in progress. I found the beds very comfortable and the breakfast was good.  I asked for some extra strong coffee and this was done w/o hesitation. I was there for hiking but I could see for a ski outing it would be excellent

Clean, Pleasant

A clean hotel with spacious rooms which are a  bit dated. Excellent value for money - with plentiful breakfast. The views from the rooms are amazing!! if you dont speak german -communication was difficult with non english speaking owners .Local tourist offices are close by. This area is beautiful.
