We loved this property every house is different and has a unique character, its like going back in time to the 60s and it is right on the beach, the staff were extremely friendly and made the stay so enjoyable. I would go there again tomorrow, such a shame its closing

We have just come back from another relaxing and enjoyable stay at Settlers Beach. We have been staying at Settlers since the mid 80's with our family and now the grandchildren are accompanying us too. Yes, the property is tired and needs investment but the relaxing environment is second to none. All the staff are very helpful, smiley and do their best in the circumstances, knowing in a few weeks they will be out of a job.
We will miss Settlers for all the memories it holds,- not sure the 'new' Settlers will have the same attraction!

Paradise

Do not be taken in by the photographs and write up.  The most disappointing place I have stayed in 20 years. Tired and much in need of updating so really over priced for what it is. No air conditioning in the downstairs living room after we returned from the beach to cool down.  Not even a vacuum cleaner available to clear up broken glass!

Went to Spagos at Settlers Beach in early March 2014 (very enjoyable, superb setting, food good {Pizza) and service friendly if sometimes a little disorganised).  While we were there we were told that both the hotel and this version of Spargo's were closing and to be demolished. Understand the site is being developed by the owners of the Sandpiper Inn, next door who are building 12 family villas on the site. A model of the plans for the site is in Spargo's together with the sales office.
The closing date is given as the end of April 2014, but the hotel closure appeared to be already in process, although some of the units nearest the beach were occupied and the grounds and pool still appeared to be well maintained.

You can still see vestiges of what Settlers Beach used to be many years ago but now I.m afraid its well past its sell by date.. there is an air of neglect about the place even though the staff bless em ! do there best .The list of faults is endless : our first night the air conditioning unit flooded  the bedroom floor we had to be moved to another room and the receptionist mopped the floor; We were given another villa the next day but couldn't unpack because the  room would not  be ready until the afternoon. The Villa was nearest the road and extremely noisy we had asked to be as far away as possible but no chance The  next day the flat wasn;t cleaned at all and they had to call back some poor cleaner from home at 6,oPM The doors would not lock there was intermittent WI FI  no TV except in a Bungalow which looked Like it was in a CareHome.
