I cannot recommend this place highly enough.  The building is stunningly beautiful and full of fascinating features, the rooms are huge and gorgeously furnished, the breakfast is lovely.  Most of all the welcome from the host was what you would expect from a friend and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable throughout.   

It’s a little distance from the centre of town but only ten minutes by tram and some of the best restaurants in Antwerp are nearby.

Perfect

Booked for 4 nights at fairly short notice - great decision. Martin has only half a dozen rooms but has put his heart and soul into this b & b. Tasteful sympathetic decoration with mod cons in the rooms (our garden room was spacious and quiet). Excellent wifi is free. A key code for the door means you can come and go as you will. Martin opens the spectacular ground floor rooms (his own apartment) for breakfast where he serves fresh juices, coffee, cereals, yoghurt, toast, croissant and cheese/ham with eggs any way as options. Btw the host accepts Revolut or Transferwise as well as cash to settle the bill. 

No formality, just great service and he is also super helpful with tips on Antwerp life and where to go/eat and enjoy the city.  Martin told us about the zurenborg district with its amazing art nouveaux houses - which is approx 10 mins walk away. 
The house is 2 stops from central station/diamant metro and regular trams run from 100 m away. The tram system is really easy to navigate. The ten ticket lignecarte at 16 euros is available everywhere (corner shops and supermarkets as well as stations). However, if you are only in town a short time a 24 hour travel pass (available at the ticket machines in the central stations) is very good value at 7.5 euros. 
Our top tip - the Plantin Moretus museum, and of course Rubens house.

A lovely efficient host and gorgeous accommodation

What a wonderful place to stay in the lovely city of Antwerp. Boulevard Leopold is full of character and charm. Martin, the owner is not only friendly and very helpful, but has wonderful taste and the B&B is decorated in his unique style (so beautifully that it has featured in a design book).
Our room was huge and full of interesting and quirky features - really lovely. Breakfast is served in a dining area that opens on to the rear garden and is very good - coffee and tea, croissants etc.
The B&B is located in the Jewish quarter and is right on the tram route which makes getting about very easy. It is also a short walk to the Art Nouveau district. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay - thanks Martin.

Loved our stay here

We stayed In Early April and could not have more delighted with our choice. When Martin asked me if I wanted 'soldiers' with my boiled eggs on the first morning I knew it was a hit! 
First its an incredibly short Tram or Taxi ride from Central Station to get to the Belgielei and also an equally easy Tram ( no 7 ) ride from the Harmony stop, only a few blocks away from the house, right into the centre of the city, passing through some trendy districts right into the old town itself and also onto the riverside area where some of the Galleries are. Belgielei itself is fairly busy bustling street in the 'jewish quarter' - back in the 1890's early 1900's adorned with a perfect row of grand period terraces, ask Martin, the very very hospitable, charming and knowledgable owner/host to show you the old photos -  but once you enter through the tall main entrance doors, one is met by a sense of calm and tranquility and history. The house is like a living museum and Martin and his predecessors have gone to enormous depths to retain as many of the original period details and also adding their own touches with vintage and retro pieces in the very large and comfortable 'shabby chic ' guest rooms. Its literally like walking into a film set 'central casting' and Martin is a 'fount' of knowledge of not only the history of the house but also of the city itself... ask him to direct you to the Bercham district which is quite un-touristy yet has many residential streets of amazing architecture - a great find.
Don't come here if you expect, power showers, aircon, all mod cons, lifts, concierge, huge flat screen tv's etc.... its a place to feel transported back in time to imbue the old antwerp vibe, and a good base to discover all the delights of this small very 'english speaking' city. The sort of place I can envisage John Le Carre burrowing down writing his next novel....
Great breakfasts, with lots of natural ingredients, and an eclectic mix of guest's.....maybe even a famous actor or writer sitting in the shadows....

Great Value Charming City Gem

Boulevard Leopold is one of the exceptional hidden treasures of the city. This is an vintage Jewish Mansion with a touch of antique decoration and lots of small nice interior details. The house can be also used as a space for photo shootings and movies so when stay there at B&B you don’t feel like hotel or private home. This is just something more - overnight in real Mansion! Mark is very attentive host, he even has a playlist for the house. Nice smells, lots of plants and decorations... you will feel like being in movie. Highly recommended!

Wow place 

Great place to visit.. Rooms are amazing, and Martin, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. The bb is full of character, relatively close to the city centre and is quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended! 😁

Lovely place

We spent three nights here. A simple metro ride from Central Station,and then an easy trip to the tourist hub. We were happy to discover an area a 10 min walk in the opposite direction from the centre where some of the better  local restaurants are to be found.
The building itself is extraordinary. Martin the owner could not have been kinder. The interior has been used as a location on several feature films.We enjoyed an excellent breakfast in museum like surroundings it was memorable.

  Warning -If you prefer corporate bland hotel rooms this place will be wasted on you.
