Our stay at hotel Franky was delightful. We stayed in a cosy room with all necessities. The room was not luxurious but easy going and perfect for the purpose. The neighbors downstairs, Pizzanini, a superbe restaurant, treated us on a very italian delicious dinner. The beach is really at a 3 minutes walk. Inwould highly recommend this hotel when you look for a superbe location and beachy atmoshpere.

After a, let's say, turbulent night, we were quite surprised we received an incredible breakfast. We were lucky the hostess was too kind not holding grudges against us. We are very thankful for your hospitality. 

Night at blankenberge

Booked last minute on booking.com we weren’t expecting much. The hotel has been refurbished recently and it’s great for the money you pay for. 
However the rooms are quite small and the hallways even smaller. Beware if you have strollers or wheelchair. The room has no air con or fan as it’s advertised on booking which was a shame as we had to sleep with the window open and endure the screams of people walking by and the many seagulls all night long. 
The bathroom is very small and so is the shower. Beware of the huge step. 
The hotel offers buffet breakfast for 12.5€/person. It’s decent. The basics. What’s cooked is made fresh so there can be a bit of wait but it’s worth it. 

Just one night 

We booked this hotel as it was very affordable,renovated and close to the beach. On the day that we checked it my husband almost got stuck in the lift with our luggage. The lift is very small and old. So we took the stairs anyway and we were on the 1st floor. Our room had a weird shape but it was clean, we had small entrance area with closet, table and chairs. So we could leave our luggage there. The room it self was small but okay for us with a tv. The shower room was very tiny i felt trapped in it with door close so I left it open. The shower door opens over the bassin. You must take a big step in the shower and the mirror cabinet was very low, you could also most bump your head. I think they can make the entrance ara smaller and the bathroom bigger. Also there were lots of mosquitos in our room even through we did not open the window and you can see hoe the people tried to kill the mosquitos on the wall with marks everywhere. The view of our bedroom was just the wall of the building next door. You can also hear everything in the hall way as the the walls are so thin. We think that it's a bit over priced for the basic. 

Basic

The hotel itself is fairly basic but nice, clean, modern with a friendly receptionist. It is about a 1minute walk to the fantastic beach and has a good Delhaize supermarket and parking, bakery, bank machines within about 3 minutes walk. We booked a family room and we thought it was great value as we had two large, clean modern rooms on the top floor, with a hall adjoining them, all to ourselves. It meant we could stay up after the children went to bed in our own space. HOWEVER, we were woken every single hour after midnight from the noise, violence and distrubances from an horrific nightclub named Circosia which is located under the hotel. By 6.30am after a night of glass smashing and fights on the street the police were called and three police vans screamed down the street. They arrested one person and left soon after and the noise continued. It was awful. Furthermore, the windows are old and don't shut properly so offer no protection from the noise. We had no sleep and our children were woken all night. I feel sorry for the hotel owners but something needs to be done. I would check that the nightclub has been shut down before booking this hotel.
I wish the hotel luck with their complaint to the town mayor about the nightclub which sadly could potentially ruin their business.

Not every day cleaning/servicing of the room; so bed is not made, bathroom is not cleaned etc.!!! 
Comfort room was very disappoiting; on the 4th floor, direct under the roof, without airconditionong; really unacceptable! (and no possibility to change the room.)
