We just spent four nights there and we were delighted, we were seven family travelers and the apartment is a marvel in terms of space and decoration, with classic but totally updated doors, comfortable beds and a very complete kitchen.

 Perfect location.

Upon arrival to the property, we could not operate the lift or open the door on the staircase and had to wait almost two hours for new key cards to be delivered when we were told it would be an hour and a half maximum. Luckily we arrived when the cleaner was still there so we could still get into the apartment to wait. 

The kitchen facilities are inadequate and the kitchen itself is small.  If there are two of you then the dining chairs are ok but for extra people there are only garden chairs to sit on.

The whole place was dusty and incomplete with mould above the shower and dirty tissues (yes tissues!) on one of the light fittings. None of the main windows could be opened and there were exposed wires in the utility area. 

When we arrived the main entrance door frame was incomplete. We had an uninvited visitor to fix and paint the door frame whilst we were staying there. This obviously should have been completed before our arrival. This was an unannounced visit and we were shocked that someone had entered the room without our permission whilst we were out and about in Brussels. Not only do we think that this is extremely discourteous but it is lucky that none of us are allergic or adversely effected by the smell of paint. Later we had a visit from the owner who we found to be rather rude and arrogant stating that he's never had a complaint before about maintenance people entering properties.
 
Furthermore as travellers, whenever we go away we always make sure we are aware of what to do in an emergency such as a fire. However in this property, there were no instructions on what to do in such an eventuality. We did notice an external escape ladder outside the window of the main living area but we could not get this window to open so this would have been completely useless. Additionally the main staircase was full of 'rubbish' including two ladders, rolls of carpet and wooden door frames on the stairs which would have been trip hazards if we have had to use this in the case of a fire. 

We therefore conclude that the property is unsafe in it's current state (especially when travelling with children). It is a shame as none of this would have taken very long to fix and  if the fixes had happened before this property was rented to us then our review may have been very different.

Unfinished and unsafe and management are rude.

As someone  mentioned we found a rodent control device in one of the bedrooms, luckily before our small children...but the worst thing was someone had urinated in the corner of the toilet room and it had been there awhile as there was dust on it on the baseboard ...

Bathroom drawer handle also filthy (and broken)...bathroom wall cabinet shelves also looked dirty, we contacted the mgmt with photos the morning after arrival and never got a response!!! With the cleaning fees charged the place should be clean. We thought someone would come each day with the per day price, at least after our complaints...

The noise is a huge problem, my husband did not sleep at all the first night (street noise plus other occupants at night and in the bathroom starting at 5am,) I did not get a good nights sleep either and the kids woke up hours earlier than normal. Also there is a smoke detector or something with a bright last that flashes every couple of minutes right over the bed (main bedroom in the yacht club)

Also other liquid stains and scuffs on walls in most of the rooms, broken dishes in the cupboards, used coffee capsule in the machine...mystery stains on the sofa throw pillows...shower drain clogged, they obviously do not care...i was afraid to touch any surface in the place (linens seemed clean though)

The deco as shown in the photos looks classy but the kitchen/bath are cheap IKEA, we figured someone inherited this place, divided it up, turned it into rentals using the stuff that had been there and cheaply doing the rest.  Sad because with a bit of cleaning and maintenance it would be great (except for noise)

All this and not even an apology from the management!

We had only booked two nights thankfully.



Disappointing and gross/unsanitary 

When we entered the apartment it looked fine, the self check-in went smoothly.  Unfortunately it all went downhill from there.

I think some of the apartments in the complex are long term lets. The flat faces out to a courtyard but the neighbours down below were a nightmare, the shouted at the top of their voices into the early hours and played loud music, my partner looked out of the window to see what was going on and was sworn at, it was very intimidating.  

The flat was very hot with no air conditioning or fans, we requested a fan and complained about the noise, nothing was done about the noise and we were told to open the windows for the hear, not easy with the racket!!

The flat needs some care and attention, it was probably gorgeous at one point but only one of the blinds worked, half of the lights didn't work, the door knob came off in my partner's hand and the toilet was cracked,my eight year old  daughter sat on a seat and the leg fell off!! We also found a rentokil rodent control next to our bed, not great when there are kids about.

We checked out two days early and stayed in a b&b. The only redeeming feature is the location.
