Compared to other budget hotels belonging to big hotel groups this is a refreshing place to stay. If compared to Ibis Budget for example this kind of old fashioned places offers so much more. Nice staff, good food for dinner and a bar that makes you want to leave your room and have a fantastic belgian beer. There is enough parking space for free and the rooms are clean.

Highly recommend place to stay, the owners were fantastic and spoke good English which obviously helped us, we have used hotel de venue for the last 4 years and will be returning in September 18 if not before.  restaurant steak it’s worth the visit on its own. Safe travels all , Gaz 

Good base 

arriving around midnight and was still being welcomed by a super friendly reception lady with a  a smile. 
now all you fancy 4-5 star hotels, pay attention and learn from this lady. it does not matter how long or extensive your traineeships last. just sincere attention and a genuine smile will make everybody feel at home. 

the room was simple,  big enough and clean. no noise from neigbourrooms. plenty of parkingplace next to the hotel.

when checking out, a gentleman had the same idea how to treat customers. again, a warm smile and a sincere chat. how come this is so exeptional these days?

staff makes a difference

I stayed in a triple room with my 2 sons. We were there for 4 nights for an event at circuit zolder.

Priorities for us were decent parking (for a large van) which was free, a cool temperature room, comfy beds and good food. Hotel de Venne could do with a bit of a refurb but quite honestly, all our requirements were met and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wanted to stay again in may but unfortunately they're fully booked.
We would like the thank the proprietors for making our stay very enjoyable. 😊😊

I had a two days meeting at C-Mine, which is 300 meters from the hotel. Nice green area, the city center is 10 minutes by bike. Its ran by a local family who had some difficulties with the English language but they are nice, helpful and everything was fine. The hotel is comfortable and clean.

Good location to visit C-Mine

Genk is not the Big City, but worth a visit.
Hotel De Venne is a friendly family hotel ,2km from the center
Located at walking disdance of C-Mine.
The hotel offers:
-Basic comfort & friendly staff.
-Breakfast is more tan sufficient and worth the price (10 EUR)
-The restaurant & bar offers local drinks & dishes, with good rates.
