It is a boat so you are not going to get the biggest rooms you will ever stay in, but you are not staying for space, you are staying for the experience and that is why I have rated this so highly.

From the very moment we booked to our departure after our two night stay, it was a friendly experience from Stefan and his crew.

On arrival we had a warm welcome and all was explained to us, parking is right outside the boat and is basically 4 euros for 24 hours, you do have to get up to sort out the parking each day at 9am, but as I said its right next to the boat 

It's nice to have a drink on the upper deck which has an indoor and outdoor area and also I would recommend eating there, its very good value for money and well cooked.

All in all perfect for a short stay and handy to walk into Kortricht town centre and also to drive to nearby WWI sites including Ypres etc.

For those that are worried that the boat moves, I barely felt it even when big ships went past.

I thought long and hard before booking as I knew it was going to be a different experience from a normal hotel, but I am really glad i did and would highly recommend it.


A Life Afloat

7 of us booked to stay at the bootel and it exceeded expectations. 

the rooms are not as "tiny" as people make out. theyre not hotel room sizes - but you are on a boat... theyre big enough to comfortably manouver around. 

the toilet / shower are in the room and separated by frosted glass, which is fine when you are comfortable with your bunkmate.

the rooms and bar were spotlessly clean.

Stefan was a perfect host and has a multitude of great stories, i would recommend having a chat to him :) 

i was expecting the room to be quite cold, but it was lovely and warm aboard.

very convenient parking nearby at 2euro50 per day

Hidden gem in a great location

Nice floating hotel and comfortable cabins.
Friendly and about 15 minutes walk to restaurants and shops.
Parking is out on the street. ( meter )
We arrived whilst a classic car rally was there, so added to the experience.
The only thing I would say is the shower area vents need upgrading as room suffers from condensation.


Different 

Difficult to say anything that has not been said already.  It’s a quirky experience.  You are on a boat.  The rooms are small and there is some movement as barges so by etc.  The cabins can get rather full of humidity as they are sealed. However the point is that you are on a boat !

The view is lovely in the morning.  The breakfast is tasty and good value.  Most importantly the warmth of the welcome is great from Stefan, his wife and Pedro. 

If you can embrace the natural trade offs that come with staying on a boat ... then you can have a different and very enjoyable stay

Enjoyable stay ... would stay again 

We book the hotel for one night on Saturday. The hotel is different, a boat, clean but on the top it was a bar. We had no issue with noise from the bar. But we came back at 23.30 from dinner. 
But the isolation between rooms was not ok. We were awake as from 6 because somebody was talking a shower.
The view is spectacular and location too.
The breakfast was too expensive: 24,89 EUR for 2. We had: prebaked bread, 2 burned croissants (1 per person), 1 yogurt where no choice was given, 1 slide cheese + 1 slide ham, some butter, 1 egg, 1 coffee... But far to expensive. A pity

Different but too expensive breakfast

The welcome was very friendly by the Boothotel with owner taking the time to explain things and demonstrate the airconditioner for cooling the room. The rooms are well designed and clean. Having the shower and toilet in the same room as the beds with just a partition may be too intimate for some people. I was attracte to this hotel because of the location and the very positive write ups on the breakfast. However we discovered when we arrived that we were a problem. The owner has decided not to provide breakfast for less than four people and as only three people were staying the next two nights no breakfast would be provided. For me breakfast is an important part of the hotel experience and it is a bit of a luxury to have it prepared and ready when you wake up. So we were naturally disappointed. This fact changed my view of the stay from good value to not so good value. The price including breakfast is good value but take away the breakfast and the price becomes expensive for just a basic room.
