Extremely unprofessional. I had a single room for one night. The second day I went out in the morning and got back to the hotel at about 14h00. I found the door locked, nobody around cause the owner had decided it was a good idea to go out and leave the hotel. I had to stay one hour outside (it's located on a quite busy highway), waiting for the guy to show up...I also called the police who apologized for the owner's misbehavior, cause I needed to take some pills I had in my room. When back to the hotel, the owner said he had gone for shopping. Never seen something more unprofessional from a hotel. I decided to leave the same day. To be fair, the owner did not want me to pay. I insisted to pay for the night I had stayed and, final surprise, the machine stopped while I was typing in my card code. Result: no receipt, no ticket, nothing (and I need it cause on a business trip). Besides all this, the hotel is crap, old, and located on a dangerous relatively (we're in the Ardennes) busy highway. Just to mention one thing, they have that kind of electronic WC you find in camper vans and roulottes...all that in a hotel supposed to be 3*. 

The only positive thing is the restaurant/breakfast room, that I suppose it's just a showcase to attract customers. In any case, it's just the ambiance to be good, food is boring, at least what they serve for breakfast. The real hell you're getting into is hidden behind.

To cut short: avoid at any cost.

If you're near the Bastogne area of Belgium, be charmed by the Hotel Les Bruyeres. It's quaint and personable with idyllic views of the hills and forest from the rear facing rooms or dining room. Les Bruyeres has an old world charm that is authentic and simple. Guy Dederen is a fantastic host, accommodating all your needs. Guy also wears the chefs hat and has more than proficient culinary skills. The dining room is warm, comfortable and modern. Each room provides for relaxation and serenity. Breakfast is gratis and ample (fresh breads, meats, eggs, coffee, juices, etc) and sure to be the perfect send off for your travels. Say hello to Guy if you visit.

Beautiful Property in the Midst of Ardennes

Very warm welcoming people and they talk very clear French so you can easily understand them. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom very modern. It was a bit warm though. Breakfast was not extensive but the pain au chocolats were very tasty.

Nice view

We arrived quite late on 30th December, the owner greeted us at reception and he couldn't have been friendlier. He was expecting a big group next day for New Year's Eve so as it turned out we were the only guests in the hotel, he even upgraded us into a larger room. We were told that the breakfast was served from 8 am, but we explained that we need to leave around 6, so he showed us where the restaurant is, how to switch on the lights, how to operate the coffee machine, he made us feel at home! With apologies he explained he wouldn't be able to arrange the breakfast to be served at 6 as he gets everything fresh from the baker, which is only available from 7. He said he would try and get some stuff for us anyway. The room was modern and comfortable, very clean, very nice bathroom. In the morning when we went down to the restaurant to our big surprise he left bread, croissant, yoghurt, ham, cheese, butter, jam and boiled eggs for us, it was a fantastic surprise. Excellent service, couldn't ask for more!

Excellent hospitality, great customer service, very nice room!

Probably not a bad stay during other moments but while we were staying there, it was a one man show. The owner ran the reception, he arranged the breakfast, he cleaned the rooms, he even prepared dinner for other guests. Later we understood that his wife had a terrible accident and couldn’t assist him, and during Xmas times he couldn’t find other backup. As a consequence the whole experience was a bit disappointing.
