This is a hotel in the typical "Ardennes" style. The location of the hotel is quite good : at the side of a hill, overlooking the city of La Roche. It's situated at a crossing for 2 access roads to the city.
There is a car parking in front of the hotel, reserved for the hotel customers.
As a lot of people go to La Roche for a cycling weekend or holiday, the hotel has the opportunity to store your bike in a garage at the street level.
The hotel is somewhat outdated, with a not so recent infrastructure, but all is quite functional, 3-star worth. The only miss we had was a small hair-dryer.
The bed is more than OK, with comfortable pillows.
The breakfast for such type of hotel is very elaborate and the breakfast area is very cosy !
The host of the hotel is very friendly, always willing to help.

Cosy "Ardennes"-style hotel with elaborate breakfast

We stayed 2 nights in December 2019. Fantastic view across the river to the town. 2 roomed suite - a twin bedroom plus a lounge, both with balcony. We found the beds perfectly comfortable. It's a quaint and traditional hotel. Perfect to feel you're staying in the Ardennes rather than at a modern characterless hotel! This hotel is full of character and original features. Lovely breakfast, lovely hosts. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic!

Scenic location across the river and up the hill from the village of La Roche en Ardenne.    Hotel is a bit run-down but clean and well maintained.  Beds were comfortable but a bit soft.   Breakfast was excellent.

Cozy quirky hotel

This cozy hotel, with an interior that is typical "Old Ardennes" style, offers everything you need. The location is also very good with a great view at the town, the church and the castle ruins. The breakfast offers something for everyone and the service is just very good and friendly.
Our room had, at a very reasonable price, two good beds, a spacious bathroom with bathtub. Both rooms with good view to the outside. Definitely recommended for those who are passing through and are looking for a quiet, good hotel that exudes an authentic atmosphere.
Free parking lots in front of the hotel and only a short walk away from town.

A typical cozy hotel in "Old Ardennes" style.

this lovely little town was the terminal point for our long-distance walk on teh Lee&Eislek trail.  We arrived at this hotel during the hottest part of the 2018 summer and our reception couldn't have been nicer. 
Our room was spacious with a nice balcony that overlooked the castle on the other side of town, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower.  The proprietress send a fan for us to use during our 3 day stay and we could not have been happier.  It help keep us cool at night and also drowned out the occasional street noise as we slept with the windows open.  For some people the proximity of this hotel to the street and the bit of a uphill/downhill walk to town might be a bit of a negative, however, we enjoyed the lovely walks through the park and along the river to get back and forth.
The breakfast buffet was fantastic with many delicious choices and excellent fresh croissants every morning.

incredible views and fantastic breakfast

OK no dodging that first impression is not great but wait....! Our room on the corner is impeccably clean, it's really big and it has a balcony where you can sit and have a glass of whine while enjoying, not exaggerating, the best view in/of La Roche! Simply great, traffic slows down in the evening and it is very enjoyable.
Service is great, very hospitable, breakfast is good and overall reception of customers is very good.  
Early morning Monday it is good to close the window due to traffic. 
We would happily come back and stay here again!

Good place with The View!

Nicely situated just outside the city centre with a nice view and a very attractive antique charm and a lot of paintings on the wall, this hotel could have been the perfect place for us during our weekend in La Roche. Breakfast was allright, maybe some fresh fruits would have been nice for us. Very friendly reception. We dit not eat or drink anything in the bar or restaurant, so I can not comment on this.
We found the room a bit outdated, but spacious and bright with a nice view on the Ourthe (extra charge). However, we found the bed being rather uncomorftable, we felt a bit like being in a hammock. But what really bothered us was the black mould between the tiles in the bathroom, in the shower. This can easely be cleaned with a small brush, so no excuse for it being there. What a pity.
