Pro :
- Booked the suite / Room is spacious and has been nicely renovated.  Rain shower - No bath tub. 
- Quiet location not far from La Roche (you will need transportation as this place is more remote) 
Con :
- No connection with staff, no information, no customer focus at all. 
- No communication at all about the property, breakfast options, area around 
- No housekeeping services took place during our 2-day stay (no cleaning, no new towels or coffee pads,...)
- No AC 
- Back garden is beautiful but not accessible for guests.

Not For Us

We visited after a mini tour of Germany on our way home. 
We stayed here four years ago and it has since been taken over by a great enthusiastic lady. 
The room was clean and really relaxing. There is a shared sitting room with a tv or weather permitting a great area to sit outside and sample the local beer or soft drinks which you can buy out of the well stocked fridge. 
Breakfast was great, the bacon and eggs were good!
You are definitely made to feel welcome and it’s safe for the motorbike to be parked up. 
Definitely worth a visit. 

Great B&B

I chose to stay at B&B Le Marronnier for one night in April 2019 based on the positive reviews on trip advisor and booking.com. Upon arrival my wife and I were pleased with how beautiful the property was. We arrived at night and the lighting truly made it appealing. Upon entering the guest home the decor was nice as well, having old pictures and historical information strewn about on the walls, shelves and tables. It was very nice to see. Upon walking into our room however I felt fooled. This place is not private. If you come alone you’ll be okay, but if you come with your significant other, don’t plan on romance because there’s no privacy between the rooms. It reminded me more of a hostel than a B&B. So maybe bring earplugs too. I was glad that I did. An even bigger complaint was regarding the bed. The bed was absolutely horrible and not comfortable at all. It was very hard with no cushion and felt like there was plastic right under the sheets. Felt as though I was sleeping on the hardwood floor. The pillow was nice. The shower was nice. You’ll read complaints about the poor WiFi and this is true. It wasn’t a good signal at all. It didn’t bother us that there wasn’t a TV in the room. It was actually quite peaceful to not have one. Breakfast was far too expensive so we opted to head into town to eat and explore. Checkout time is early, 1030, so it encouraged us to do so. The owners were very nice but I feel I have to be honest with everyone considering to stay here and reading this. It is not worth the cost at all. I paid 120 euros (no breakfast included) for a terrible nights rest on a horrible bed. Way too expensive. I wouldn’t come back if it were a third of the price, unless if maybe they changed the mattress, but then there’s still the lack of privacy. 

More like a Hostel w/ an terrible bed

Just back from a 2 night stay and this place goes down as one of the best B&Bs we ever stayed in.  The owners are the most friendly people we have ever come across.  Indeed you would need a car to get into La Roche but it’s the peace and tranquility of this place that makes it a thousand times better than staying in the busy La Roche.  It’s about a 10 minute drive outside of La Roche and situated at the corner of a crossroad.  They are extremely pet friendly with beautiful walking routes at the back of the house.  They have a beautiful garden with comfy lounge seats to relax in.  They have a kitchen purely for guests where you can make tea or coffee, a fridge where you can leave your drinks to cool and another fridge stocked up with beer, wine, cola and all sorts of drinks where you can help yourself and write it down to pay for upon departure.  The beds were comfy with spotless clean linen and we had a nice big bathroom that came with a hairdryer.  Breakfast was so freshly made with fresh breads, croissants, yogurts and the egg with bacon cooked only when you were seated was so delicious.  The warm welcome you receive makes it a welcome that money can’t buy.  We will definitely be back and definitely recommend this place.

Excellent B&B

We had a very nice and warm welcome from the owners upon our arrival. 
Our room (Gauguin) was very clean and tidy room, including our small private bathroom.
Beds maybe a bit too hard, but we slept very well. 
Excellent continental breakfast. 


Very nice and welcoming 

We stayed at Le Marronnier for one night. We stayed in the main house because the owner made a mistake and gave our room to someone else, which was fine, considering our room was enormous, very comfortable, with a very sophisticated shower (I had a hard time to figure it out). So I can't comment on the usual rooms, but ours was fine, a bit old fashioned but quiet, and the bed was firm and comfortable. Breakfast is a bit expensive but plentiful and delicious. Bacon and eggs, local cold cuts, croissants, fresh rolls, yogurt, cereals, juice. So it's a good option if you don't want to get hungry by 11am.  The owners are very friendly.
Would recommend.

Very friendly and comfy b&b - big breakfast

We were made very welcome here, and the property is in a lovely spot although quite close to a fairly busy road. Our room was very nice, clean and bright and with really beautiful bedding! It is a drive into La Roche so you would definitely need a designated driver. We felt the room was quite big enough for our needs and in the evening there was a lovely log fire in the room used by guests. Breakfast was fab, fresh cooked eggs and bacon and lovely fresh bread. We liked it here - it's not cheap but the welcome is lovely.
