The caravan was quite new, very clean and well laid out compared to others we have stayed in. That is where the good stops! The site was a complete let down, there is no pool, the restaurant/bar and Friteur weren't open for our entire stay and the poorly stocked shop only opened for a few hours in the morning. The only facilities were an inflatable trampoline, a water spray park for under 12's, a small play park and petanque (own balls required!). The whole area was like the Marie Celeste, all the way to Middlekerke, restaurants were very expensive and no supermarkets were open in the evening. We arrived on a Sunday and if I hadn't though to pack some pasta we would have gone hungry! On the plus side the tram is good fun and an all day ticket was only 6E for adults and 1,5E for 11 and under. My advise would be to go when their season starts later in the year - and French does not seem to be the language in this area despite it being so close.

Absolutely dead in May

Went here over Easter disappointed with the site and area overall. A request was made for a mobile Home  near to the site facilities, they failed to inform us that the companie's vans we booked were at the furthest away. Site is level so no problems with a mobility scooter. Children's play area was fair. The restaurant had a good selection of meals at reasonable prices. You could purchase advance tickets for the KusstTram saving on the cost of buying on board. It was about a 15 - 20mins walk to the beach, unfortunately there were a lot of roadworks being carried out in the area and as such using a satnav it was difficult to find the access to the site. Access to the vans is up 3 wooden steps with no handrail and are dangerous when wet. The van is fairly well equipped with cooking /eating equipment. The double bed was like sleeping on concrete, and the single beds would not support me sitting on them. an extra bunk bed is useful for children. overall it was poor value for the money paid.

Average site

Very disappointed with this campsite.  We have done self-drive camping holidays for many years and the ones we have been to have always had reasonable amenities in low season,not here! Shop only open a few hours in the morning, no bar or rested even snack bar shut!! No courier representation from Vacansoleil, who we booked through to go to for advice regarding the local area, lucky we could get wi fi and got most of our info from the Internet! Mobile home ok and very clean on arrival.  Would not stay here again.
