We stayed at Kompas Nieuwpoort for Easter weekend. We had pre booked an XL motorhome pitch with private bathroom. Although expensive it suited our needs for this trip. It was indeed a large pitch, half shell gravel ( which gets everywhere!) & half grass but ample to fit our 8m motorhome & awning, plus we also parked a car on the grass. The private bathroom was large & clean, the only downside was we didn’t have water or waste on our pitch, which for the price we would have expected. The site is very big with various different pitches, and lots of privately owned lodges. Although huge, it is immaculately kept, extremely clean & has a lovely feel to it, one of the nicest we have stayed on in Europe, especially Belgium. The facilities are great, with a large restaurant serving lovely food, and a big outdoor pool which opens at the end of April. There’s a large boating lake adjacent to the site with a cycle/walking path all the way into Nieuwpoort, which itself has some lovely restaurants near the marina, and again lots in Nieuwpoort bad, which is slightly further away. There is a fabulous tram which runs all the way through Nieuwpoort up the coast towards the Dutch border. The tram is probably a 20-30 minute walk from the site, however it goes past the other Kompas site in Westende which is much nearer a tram station.  Overall we enjoyed our stay here & would definatly stay again

Lovely site

Great location for Nieuwpoort, we walked to the town in 10 minutes. To be honest, we only stayed here as we had an issue with our water pump so needed to shower, as we usually stay on Camperplatts. It is a large campsite but level pitches we good access for the restaurant, reception, pools (which were closed), shop and shower block. Quite expensive but facilities will be the reason for this. The pitches are covered in crushed shells which go all over the van so I would recommend putting a mat down outside and a brush for your shoes/ boots otherwise you will be cleaning the stuff out forever!

Great location for Nieuwpoort

We were situated well apart from any other site users which felt quite isolating as there were no other motor homes or caravans near us . The park is huge and there are very few rubbish collection points, which could not be any further from where we were situated. Toilets and showers were immaculately clean . Chemical toilet point was convenient.
Reception staff were efficient but not particularly welcoming . The brasserie staff were helpful but the surroundings lack any atmosphere.
Nice 4 mile walk to Nieuwpoort Beach .
Overall impression was one of a rather cold and unfriendly setting.

Quite an unwelcoming atmosphere.

Visited here with my daughter and stayed in a holiday cottage. The cottage was stylish and modern and had everything we needed. The only thing which could be improved was that it was so hot there at night. Every night 34 degrees or hotter in the chalet. Air con would be a good idea. We had to have windows and doors open - got many mosquito bites but it was still roasting hot. Also the curtains let in a lot of light. Black out blinds would provide darkness and keep the heat out a bit. 
The staff at the resort were all very helpful and polite.  There is plenty to do on the site for kids. Great pools, play areas etc. The animatie was ok- could have been more variety of activities such as mini disco. 
The resort hire bikes and we used these to cycle to the beach. There is also a nice boating lake behind the site with cycle path alongside. There is also a restaurant bar etc. Everything you can think of. 
I would come here again for sure.

Good camping with nice plots. 
Snackbar (frituur) is a disaster, long queues, online orders get priority and get on between, resulting on 30 minutes between me an previous client. Back at the camper we discover the meat is still cold and frozen.. 
Supermarket not much better, first morning fresh nice bread and "pistolets", 2nd morning old and dry...

Camping ok, avoid snackbar

Terrible idea came in my mind to book to this camping. They never gave clear information if they opened or not. They waited the most they can to allow them to only refund us 75% of the cost !!!!! This is disgusting ! First we were locked as we didnt knew if we could go in this camping for our holidays. They said maybe they will open but maybe all playgrounds and/or swimming pools will be closed. But hey, we choose this camping for kids. I dont want to pay 900€ a week just for a location if my kids can't do anything ! And I decided to cancel my booking but they will take 25% of my 900€ ! Seriously ?! And they also said that they will do the refund in june but we are the 13 and july and still nothing and they dont answer my mails ! 
This is unacceptable !

Booking during Covid19 = steal

We stayed in our caravan for 4 days busy big site , we had read the bad reviews and had our concerns , the place was a building site but we could see through this problem it would have been better if they reduced the prices during the improvements .
The pitch was fine , the toilets were cleaned regularly and were always bustling, the restaurant was also busy but fine , we cycled into the town nearby and down the coast path,will stay again

Good site but it depends what you expect

we went there for 2 weeks sept the people were brilliant loverly site good facilities near ypess Ostend and dunlirk loads to do very informative in the officeloverly restrant on site with a bar have been going for 5 years

Just awful  worst camping experience of my life.  

Staff very unhelpful  the pitches are so close together its ridiculous.  No help on check in as to where to find essential stuff like showers and toilets.  Place was a building site, literally  with pallets, rubble and metal fencing round the pool and outdoor areas-which they failed to mention on booking. The whole place lacks atmosphere and none seems to speak to or acknowledge each other.

The resteeaunt is vile. Long wait for terrible food. They can do chips reasonably well. That's it   and its hugely overpriced with very surely staff.

Please avoid.

Avoid at all costs.  Wish I could give minus star rating.

Big camping but that should not scare you. Clean and predictable high quality.we stayed with camper. Was a one night visit. High end camping.

Wel organised and i think for family with kids offering some mass entertainment.
