We stayed for five nights.We had a room at the back which was beautifully quiet and well appointed.It is in close walking  to the station and trams so getting about was easy.Breakfast was superb and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Reallygood hotel

Despite comfortable location near the train station and beach and attractive pricing don't go there is you base yourself on the pictures shown on the hotel website. Reality is far from what you would expect. Also...no airco.

Cozy and luxurious! Rooms with high aesthetics, unique design, and comfortable beds.
The location is right at the best part of Oostende, just a minute away from the train station and the main shopping area.
The personnel were exceptionally supportive and helpful and did their best to make us feel at home.
Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choices.
We are definitely going to visit Du Bassin again!

Love this place

The hotel is excellent with a beautiful view and near the train station.The personel very friendly and the breakfast is very nice. The rooms are great and very clean. We will visit again for sure. Thank you!

Excellent hotel

Nice small hotel, right by the port and centre of town. Clean, functional rooms, recently renovated. All amenities available. Excellent extensive breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant (same owner) is right downstairs.

Excellent

We stayed for two nights on a short break. The hotel is perfectly situated close to the station, town centre and beach. They offer discounted parking literally across the road, which was a bonus. Our room was clean and comfortable, although I don't get on with memory foam mattresses and pillows! It was just for two nights so was fine. The bathroom was clean and the over bath shower very good.

The buffet breakfast was extremely good and very tasty, and the background music calm and quiet. We would definitely come back to this hotel.

Really lovely hotel

The hotel is located close to the railway station overlooking the outer harbour.  Our room overlooked the harbour, and although you did get some street noise we were happy to overlook this to enjoy the view.
The room was a good size with very comfortable bed and an ensuite with bath and shower over.  Everything was clean and tidy.
Breakfast was included in our room rate and was a good self service buffet.
The hotel does not have on site parking but has an arrangement for a reduced rate with the car park near the station (just a couple of minutes walk).  We had already parked at an underground secure car park very close by (again, just few minutes walk) and decided to leave it there.  The cost was approx €14 for an overnight stay.
We very much enjoyed our stay here, and would use the hotel again

Comfortable hotel in good location

You might find me stranger than my review title if I would tell you that I booked this hotel only because it was providing Electric Kettle.
Non-eggetarian vegetarian have their own issues.
I needed the kettle to heat up my pre-cooked packet, the only hope on which I have survived in Ostend.

But the hotel exceeded to my expectations with far far distance.
The hotel view is so awesome and useful that not only you can see all the ships passing through to meet ocean but you see the view of heavy bridges getting split open to give way to ships right from your room.
The best part is you can get down to front road to have close view and can still get hotel wi-fi signal to have video call.

Hotel is situated at corner and if you are lucky to get the corner room like me, the entire city events will come to you and you don't need to step a single foot outside your room.
There was annual City event and all the band's, stalls, musicians, crowd was just beneath my room. 

Breakfast was Very good and you will always find the restaurent filled up with people eating drinking and enjoying.
Very lively place, choose it if you want to live the vibe, peace seeking people should find other hotel.

I was able to get only single room which was Ok but with low space.
City centre is few distance away, can find only existing Indian restaurant 'Tandoori' very near by. Have to walk for grocery store or access beach.

Bus stand and train station are very close. 

Never attempt to take taxi for airport transfer(Brussel airport), it charged me 301€, although it was night time but still too high. Airport train take 20€ for same.

Overall pleasant stay and would choose again.

Review for Indian vegetarian

well we stayed here again this year for the 3rd time and as before a good hotel and great location all staff are friendly and helpful we mentioned last year our room could of done with tea and coffee making equipment and this year there was one in the room I don't think it was my comment but nice to see it was there once again thank you for a lovely stay and hope to see you next year

I had a single room, at the front of the hotel.  The room was comfortable, although very small.  The ensuite bathroom was large, and very clean.  There is a fun fair directly outside the hotel, and this does cause some noise, although by 23:00 it does get quite.  A good central location.
