Hotel is simple, but smart, modern etc

Bathroom was nice.

We were disturbed at around 11 pm by a pack of noisy Wallonians returning to their rooms and speaking for a good ten minutes, loudly and inconsiderately - but that is not the fault of the hotel nor the owners/staff. 

Double bed was comfortable - lovely view out of the window, and breakfast was good. 

Close to the Markt, so good location.

I stayed at this hotel for one night as I was doing the Flemish Beer Run and I will definitely return next year. 

The hotel is well located (very close to the centre, train station and the run start and finish).  The room was clean and modern.  The bed was very comfortable and the shower worked well.  Breakfast was also of a high standard and  the staff were very helpful.

I liked the fact the rooms did not have numbers but were named after beers.  
The only issue I had is that there is no lift and I was with my two year old son who has not yet mastered going up and down stairs.

Nice hotel in a good location

We booked here for 2 nights. 3 couples and 1 single person. The hotel is in the centre of Poperinge, and was very clean and comfortable. They even let us use their garage to house our 4 motorbikes,which was great. The couple who owned it were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this unassuming 2 star hotel,  we had an excellent large, spotlessly clean room on the first floor.  It’s in a very central location 5 minutes to the train station.  I’ve stayed in 3 star hotels here and honestly this was every bit as good.  The continental breakfast is excellent with a good choice of cereals, breads, meats and cheese.  There’s also the option of having freshly prepared eggs.   We’d have no hesitation staying here again.  


Weekend getaway

We stayed here for 3 nights while on a cycling tour of Northern Belgium. There was adequate covered secure storage for our 4 bicycles. You can also hire bicycles from the hotel, including electric ones. 
The rooms and en suite bathrooms are adequate, though you probably wouldn't choose to stay here if you are looking for something luxurious; but, if you are, you will have to pay more. As other guests have commented, some of the rooms are up a couple of flights of stairs, and there is no lift.
Breakfast was extra, which we purchased on two mornings because of the convenience of eating in, and found that there was a good selection of food offered, including a cooked option if preferred.
The hotel has a slightly "period" appearance, and has probably seen grander days in the past. There was no evening meal on offer, but the owner was happy to recommend nearby restaurants, of which there are many. The hotel is really very convenient indeed for the centre and all attractions in Poperinge, but, being just off the main square, was not noisy.
The owners are hard working and down to earth. They do not offer frills, but are polite and helpful if help is asked for.

Convenient for the centre and good value for money

The Pakace Hotel is in a brilliant location. Close to town square and all the local attractions. The hotel itself is tired. Room on second floor. Bed was very soft, bathroom, such as it was, the shelves were thick with dust. The main bedroom wooden floor was gritty and dirty. I hadn't taken slippers, I make no apology if the sheets at the bottom of the bed were black because that had come off the floor. The shiwer just inside the room was interesting , the door didn't close very well so so are towel used to protect the floor.
Breakfast, which I hadn't bothered considering the additional cost. Hot drinks out of a machine into silly little cups. 
I would stay here again because of the location, which out weighs the above negatives.

Great location 

We rocked up outside and I was left with the bags whilst my wife parked. The (presumably) owner came across the road and asked me if I was staying there. She then proceeded to tell me they had double booked us and we were staying elsewhere. I was livid! Anyhow after a few moments of ‘back and to’ she worked out that it wasn’t us she had double booked after all - not a good start. 

Someone else was clearly in for some major inconvenience however. 

Up two flights of stairs and into a pokey little room with the cramped shower cubicle actually squeezed into the room and a separate toilet and wash hand basin in a small room. There was very little room left after the double bed. 

During the night I woke up with a screaming sore throat and realised the room absolutely stank of smoke - some dirty, selfish individual on the same floor was smoking and it was all coming in under the door. In the morning the landing outside the room still stank. I jammed pillows across the door to block it and then opened the sky light window. Of course that then meant that we were eaten alive in the night by mosquitos - I have EIGHT very itchy lumps now and my wife has SIX. 

Finally, when anyone walks around and you are sat ‘on the throne’ the floor flexes so much you think you may end up falling off. No, in truth I’m being flippant now but anyone walking about is so loud and there’s so much movement they may as well be in the room with you. 

NOT GOOD and not cheap either. 

Not impressed. 

Room was fine but all the staff was awful very miserable indeed.Would not recommend.WE all said we would never use the hotel again.They also never replied to emails sent regarding parking nearby very bad.
