For what you pay, this is best deal in the city. The room has AC and a clean shower. The rooms are clean and the courtyard is private. The breakfast is basic, but a nice way to start the day. The best part about this place is the owner. He and his assistant are incredibly helpful, they go out of their way all the time. The owner even rented us a car and gave us the best deal in town. We could walk all over the city from this central location, I would certainly recommend this place for singles or families travelling through the city. 

PS. Staying in the city means that you will see differing levels of poverty and lots of dogs (barking!), regardless of where you stay. But the locals are incredibly nice.

A nice place to stay

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times previously when visiting Belize and had always been satisfied.  The rooms are basic but were always clean and the owners were friendly.  I had read that ownership had changed, hence the name change as well.  I booked online and had no problems the first day/night of my stay.  

The second day I worked in my room until about 11am and went out for a meeting.  On the way out I asked for the room to be cleaned while I was out. I returned at 2pm and the room hadn’t been serviced. Annoying but no big deal.  I went out again at 3:30 and again asked for the room to be cleaned.  I came back at 6pm and the room was still the way I had left it. Now I was annoyed.  Went for dinner and came back at 8:30pm. Still no servicing of the room.  At that point I gave up asking. 

I checked out the next morning.  I won’t be staying there again. 😟😟 



Disappointed

We spent just last night here because we had to take a flight the morning after.
Nothing reach. A normal hotel located somewhere in the city. 
We had cooler in the room and no fridge.
Breakfast in the morning was simple: jelly, coffee, slice of toast and bananas.

Typical Belizean Hotel

Love the friendly and always helpful staff, rooms are small but still big enough and most important clean, The water pressure is not that great but you do get water lol. Over all I loved it if you are not out for fancy and high class. We went on excursions every  day and don't spend time in the hotel room. Breakfast is simple but I don't eat any different at home. I would take it again

Nothing fancy but clean

WARNING WARNING WARNING  This hotel is nothing more than a house of prostitution!!!  It used to be a decent family run hotel called the Bakadeer but it sold to a new owner who has turned it into an hourly place full of "Hookers and Johns".   Unfortunately the new owner is still using the old pictures from when it was the Bakadeer to lure people in.  Trust me, you DO NOT WANT TO STAY here (unless this filth is what you're looking for...).  Mirrors on the ceilings, disco lights, stripper poles in the rooms, and warning signs posted in the rooms about how to dispose of used condoms (for real, see pics).  We walked out immediately and the owner REFUSED to refund us our money.  This place is a dirty and slimy place and so is the owner.  You've been warned!

House of Horrors and Whores

The room was dirty, bug infested and bleak.  The beds did not even have a top sheet - just a bottom sheet and a dirty bedspread!  We also rented a car from them - when we got to the car we found it absolutely filthy inside and out.  When we asked for a different car, we were told there were no other cars available.  As we had an appointment, we took the car as is.  It was dead empty of gas and every single light in the dash was on.  The brakes squealed as they were shot and the front end of the car felt like it was going to drop out!  What a nightmare.  When we returned, shaken to the hotel and asked to speak with the owner - he initially refused to talk to us and when he finally did he told us that Belize is a third world country and we should expect that kind of car.  A total disaster and I want to warn all other unsuspecting customers to run, not walk away from a stay at The Best Time Inn, Belize!

Worst Hotel Experience Ever! Avoid this hotel at all costs!

Our hotel had recommended  Best Time Inn for car rental.  We had booked the car for three days and on the third day we were stopped at Belmopan by a roadside police check. The police said that the car's insurance had expired.  The police guy  was very helpful and called the Best Time Inn manager to ask him what he was going to do about it. The policeman then told us to return the car to the rental agency immediately as Best Time Inn should not have rented it to us uninsured. He said that it was a jailable offence to drive an uninsured car with a $600 Bz fine and that the driver would have to attend court.  We drove the 2 hours back to Belize City to return the car.  I asked for a refund for the third day because we hadn't been able to drive it, had wasted half the day having to return it, and had just put $70 Bz of petrol into the tank. They refused to give us a refund.   The manager wouldn't speak with me directly, preferring to text me while we were both in their office (!).  At some point he just stopped texting me.  It is very poor management to rent an uninsured car to customers and very poor service to refuse a refund and then just stop communicating.  The rental was not cheap either.

Don't rent a car from these people

came here after hearing that a new owner took over and wanted to give the place another shot. the room was dirty and the breakfast was very basic. the hotel is located in a poverty stricken area so i wouldn't recommend families coming here. it still needs  a lot of work to be done.
