It was an amazing place to stay. It was just the natural retreat that my husband and I needed. We loved walking around the property to see the wildlife, visiting the chickens and donkeys, and walking along the river. The staff were friendly and helpful, it was so easy to book activities, and they even helped us when we had already booked activities through other companies. We truly hope to be back again, maybe next time with the children. Maybe

Just what we needed

If you are trying to decide, just choose Table Rock. Transfers were flawless, went to zoo and atm cave. Food and drink were fantastic. Staff was amazing.  The property was so much fun, hiking trails, the river, the gardens, birds, so much to do

Just book it

The staff were so kind and helpful with everything and anything we needed. It was great for families who have kids - we enjoyed feeding the donkeys and bunnies and could tube and canoe the river right from the resort. The location is amazing because you are close to the city but you are also in the deep jungle. I would highly recommend staying here. It was perfect!

Perfect resort

I had read the reviews of Table Rock on TripAdvisor prior to going, so had high expectations.  My expectations were more than met.  Because Table Rock is a relatively small Lodge, they can really personalize your experience.  Everyone knew our names.  Every night, someone would check in with us about our plans for the next day.  If we had booked an outing, they would review it with us and answer questions.  We felt very well taken care of.

On our "off" days, we enjoyed Table Rock--feeding the donkeys and rabbits, tubing, canoeing, hanging out by the pool, walking and jogging around the property.  
The food was incredible.  Our teens kept telling us how much they looked forward to their meals.  Our daughter has celiac--the staff was very responsive to our questions and my daughter didn't have any problem finding a variety of meals to eat during our 4 night stay.  The coffee was so good that we asked where Table Rock sourced it from and stopped by the local Mayan family's home / business on the way out of town to pick up coffee for ourselves and as gifts to friends.

I also wanted to give a special shout out to Oscar, the bartender.  He took a genuine interest in our family and felt like a friend that we didn't want to say goodbye to on our last day.  And, if you can't decide between a drink and dessert after dinner, I highly recommend Oscar's Belizean Snow--it covers both, was great and huge enough to share.

If you are heading to the area, you really should stay at Table Rock Jungle Lodge!

A special place

Truly a remarkable and amazing place to stay. Everyone at Table Rock makes you feel like family -- they do anything they can to make your stay special and memorable. We had a large family of 10 (from age 7 to 73), and everyone loved our stay in the jungle. The food is delicious, the location is great, they coordinate adventures, and were flexible when weather intervened. Cannot say enough great things about our stay. 100% would recommend -- and hope we can return some day! Big thank you to everyone at Table Rock!! 

Amazing jungle lodge -- our highest recommendation! 

This is a delightful resort. There are only 10 cabanas but some a bit larger for family accomadation. Very comfortable and screened windows. Things are spread out somewhat for privacy but this also allows for a sensation of being in the jungle with visits from many birds and small animals. Staff were wonderfully helpful in arranging day trips and transpiration. There is a small pool and canoes and tubes available for us to use on the adjacent river.  Our bar host was inventive with cocktails and the food was fabulous, with daily specials augmenting a set menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a 10 percent gratuity on everything but that reduces the pressure to tip all the time, allowing small tokens for special help. The lodge is situated on a farm with fruit trees, animals and hiking trails. A super place for a family holiday or jumping off spot to explore Belize..unBelizable!!

Everything was good about this place.  Setting beautiful and well arranged, rooms quiet and comfortable, staff super friendly and helpful, restaurant/bar incredible ambience and great food, river access with free canoes and tubes is great.  The tours they arrange are with very competent guides.  We took the canoes up the river a bit and stopped for a drink at Chaa Creek - found it was much bigger and a totally different, less carefree vibe than Table Rock.  We definitely made the right choice.

Wow!  Will definitely be returning!

Our family of 3 stayed at Table Rock for one week in February and loved every second!  The staff, accommodation, food, drinks and grounds were over the top!  There is plenty to do at Table Rock with the swimming pool, hiking, canoeing, tubing and just soaking it all in.  Although there were no other children when we were there, our ten-year-old daughter always had plenty to do.  The night hike was informative; we got to see and learn a lot.  The local community of San Ignacio was fantastic and there are plenty of other off-site excursions to go see and do.  We easily could have stayed longer; we were sad to say goodbye.  If you like nature and beautiful people, this is a must-go!

Our daughter still gets weepy for Lloyda, Blanca and Oscar.  


Table Rock Jungle Lodge – A Nature Lover’s Dream

Staying at Table Rock is an unbelievable experience, from the moment you arrive.

Everyone on the team is incredibly friendly and helpful.  The food is amazing - multiple options for breakfast; a choice of specials for dinner as well as the regular menu. And a nice selection of cocktails and drinks. we stayed for 5 nights and there was a different dinner menu every night.

We stayed in the Rainforest Cabin, which is the original owner's cabin. It's close to the kitchen and restaurant but other than at core meal times, there's not much noise to worry about. The cabin itself is a bit quirky (in a good way) - you certainly know that you're in the jungle, with views directly into the trees, and surrounded by sounds day and night. A very comfortable place to stay.

The estate itself is great for walking around and seeing birds and animals. We saw toucans, woodpeckers, aracaris (and more) most mornings and evenings, only walking a few minutes from the main lodge to see them. We took the morning guided birding walk which was very interesting - the main value being that we were shown the best areas on site for bird watching, so we could go back later. There is a private trail across the road which gives you another view of the forest (about an hour's loop)

The canoeing and tubing on the lodge grounds was fun, and very easy to do. We canoed to Chaa Creek for lunch, which was an easy 20 minute paddle - highly recommended. We also booked a half day tour for cave tubing through the resort - the guide, Israel,  was excellent, and gave us an insight into Belizean life as well, on the drive to and fro. On the way back, I mentioned that I was surprised that Belize didn't have a coffee industry. He offered to take a detour to visit his neighbor who is developing a  local coffee industry - and we had an impromptu tour to the Oxmul coffee ranch! (Also worth a trip on the way back from an excursion)

We took the local shuttle (Mr Otto) into San Ignacio which was also very easy, He can drop you off in the center of town ($7 BZD), or up to the ruins at Cahal Pech ($11BZD) so you can then walk down into town afterwards.

I don't want to single out anyone by name because everyone at Table Rock goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, whether it's the folks in the restaurant who you interact with multiple times a day, or someone on the maintenance team who stops to say good morning for no reason; the front desk team are also excellent.. In all the years I've been travelling, I've never stayed anywhere so consistently and genuinely friendly.

You cannot go wrong by staying at Table Rock. We'll be back, for sure

Amazing jungle lodge for birdwatching, and getting away from it all

The setting is gorgeous. The lodgings are spacious and beautifully furnished. The food is phenomenal. Every member of the staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful; they are genuinely devoted to making sure you have a great stay. They do a wonderful job of arranging tours (e.g., Xunantunich, Caracol, night hike, bird watching, etc., etc.)  There's a nice swimming pool and very convenient tubing and canoeing in the river. The donkeys, bunnies and playground make it all that much better for little kids. My wife and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Cayo. I rarely do TripAdvisor reviews any more, but was moved to do one for this superb location.
