Spent a week at the Park Place, and was very happy with the room and location - right on the beach. They have a bar and restaurant on site. Great staff and the price can't be beat. Recommend staying here.

Great inexpensive hotel

My travel partner and I (not the guy who photo bombed our pic) did research and we have both stayed at resorts. We wanted to just have a comfortable landing space to sleep with our own bathroom and show.  This was a perfect fit. 

We had a king bed on the 2nd floor. Room #7.   James checked us in and took care of us.  The bar staff is so friendly and the kitchen’s food is amazing.   Below are pics of the octopus ceviche and the shared balcony on the 2nd floor. 

Our room had a king size bed with 4 pillows.  Decent size stand in rain shower and toilet.  There was a mini fridge and tv. The room had our own a/c unit and it stayed cool for us.  It was awesome for what we wanted.  The security-guard watched our golf carts at night and let us in when we stay out late.

We recently went to Belize and stayed at Park Place.  It was a very nice hotel right on the beach.  We had a nice room with a king size bed, a/c, and a mini-fridge.  The hotel overall was very clean, had hot water at all times.  The restaurant/bar area was great.  Had a very friendly staff and good food and drinks.  I would recommend going to this hotel if you visit San Pedro.

Great hotel for the price

Wow, what a great resort. My wife and I stayed 4 nights. The room was very clean and everything worked great. House keeping cleaned and made new towel animals every day. We always had plenty of hot water, and the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect, just steps to the beach, park and Boca del Rio. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate at the bar several times and the food was delicious. We went to several different bars on the island but always ended up going back to the Rio bar at the hotel and having the best time partying with the locals and staff. I will definitely be going back and staying there again.

Paradise found

We stayed at Park Place Belize for 6 nights. The hotel was very clean and beds were comfortable. Hot water was unpredictable which is typical for San Pedro, so that was a non issue as we were already expecting that. Staff was friendly enough. Restaurant and bar we just okay. My biggest complaint was that the hotel is right next to the bridge. There are large trucks that honk there horns all hours. Apparently all trucks must honk when crossing to notify oncoming traffic. This made it hard to relax. It is also right next to the park, at night there would be several drunk locals hanging out at the park. Wanting to chat the police were there almost nightly dealing with these men. I struggled writing the review because the hotel itself is great. But I would definitely look elsewhere if you are looking for a relaxing trip.

Just okay...noisy area

The beds were comfy and the AC worked good! That’s about all I can say 100% for sure positives. It needs a lot of updates, door handles and locks barely work, the wood laminate on the exterior doors are separating and some even have sheet rock screws holding them together, the TV cords and cable is just hanging and dangling against the wall fully visible under the TV and above the dresser, no closets, lock box would not work, pipes and stuff very rusty, TV I don’t think had ever been wiped down and has huge smudges all over it! The toilet paper holder is just above the height of the water shut off valve so it’s only about 8” off floor! Very limited on amount of towels in rooms. The view is decent, the place is in a great location we thought! With some serious cleaning and major updates it could be a lot nicer! We were not real sure what to expect as they do have low affordable rates for probably to trying to accommodate or take away the view of some of the blemishes that’s are seen! The neighbors also sound like they are in same room as you when they are home so probably not very too private from the adjoining neighbors! The staff is friendly, also very responsive with texts prior to coming in and they will give you good golf cart rates! If they have karaoke going down stairs at the bar it is very loud even on third floor with doors closed! If your looking for low rate with a bed and don’t care stuff is outdated and not kept up then its ok! But don’t expect much more than that! 

Comfy bed and AC worked! small room

I had a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. It was an amazing view! The hotel was cheap enough, so for that I was able to overlook some of the maintenance issues. There is no front desk staff. One of the waitresses had to call the guy and he arrived on a scooter after about 10 minutes. The bed was great! The view was great! the bathroom was clean but pipes were super rusty and it had some mold. They could do a better job with maintenance. I stayed 4 nights. Another thing I was wary of, is they wanted to do an imprint of my credit card, have me sing it, but not put in any dollar amount. This was for any future bar or restaurant tab. Pretty scary to do that. I gave them $100 bill instead. I got it back at the end. I have heard though, that there is new owners or management, so maybe things have improved.

This hotel was adequate, the room was clean and the staff courteous, but I'm sorry, when a place is charging 90 bucks a night there should be hot water, not constant excuses why there is NOT hot water.

Traveler warning !

The place is falling apart, but more importantly, dirty.
The room is kept clean, but the common areas are a disaster. The balcony had spilled coffee on it for 3 days, and no one cleaned it. It was on second floor, but had so much dirt on floor that it felt like the beach :-(
The hotel is also out of maintenance. The doors creak and make noises that wake up a sleeping giant. 
The showers leaked and flooded the room. 
The coffee service was so dirty as people make a mess and no one cleans it. The cleaning lady (and the hotel attendant) were on their phones most of the day.
So much potential to improve.

We stayed at Park Place for 4 nights and after our visit, we wished we had stayed elsewhere. I’m a frequent traveler (international and domestic) and this by far was my worst hotel experience. The staff was cordial but spent majority of their time eating, drinking and sitting in the lobby or at bar. The coffee maker in the lobby was never available and the staff made no point to get it going in the morning.

Our room air conditioners did not get the room comfortable temp and when we first walked in the room the frig was broke (was changed out) and the curtains would not close (also had to be fixed).

Throughout the night we felt that we were getting bit but weren’t sure what was biting us. At night while we were getting bitten all night the staff was downstairs making loud noises and playing music which didn’t help us sleep.

The hot water was sometimes working and sometimes it wasn’t. The sink faucet trickled with water and was clogged when it drained. My suggestion would be for the employees to spend time cleaning, and fixing problems around the facility and less time engaging in leisure activities throughout the day that isn’t productive to a travelers stay. 

Also the hotel has a policy where you have to put a sign on your door to get your room cleaned rather than just making an attempt daily to keep the place clean which I thought was odd. 

My advice would be to stay clear of Park Place!
