Just outside but walkable to the center as Brotas is not big. Hotel is simple, rooms are not too big, if you want to have a comfortable stay, you might want to go to a resort as that might have better things surrounded in the hotel/resort. If you are in Brotas for the adventure trails, waterfalls etc. so you have only to sleep it is perfect. Friendly staff


Simple but good hotel to start explore the Brotas surrounding 

Quite simple place, but VERY neat, clean and safe. Well located in center ville, pleasant people, and has a big cellar with local made "cachaça" (and you can try them out!). It has a garage, so you can safely leave your car and stuff while going for the local attractions. Only a couple of blocks away from the best restaurants, pubs and amenities.

The rooms in this hotel are very small, and so is the wardrobe and bathroom. The toilet was build very close to the shower cabin, and for that reason difficult to use. All towel hooks were broken. The walls of the rooms are thin and therefor any noise can be easily heard. There is only one electrical socket. But the rooms are clean, the water pressure  of the shower good, service fine, the breakfast tasty and Wifi ok. The hotel offers free parking and there is a small Cachaca museum and shop in the basement. 
There is als a number of nice art painting in the hotel for sale.

Small rooms

Every one you deal with could not be nicer. The rooms are big. The bed adequate. The breakfast brings the variety of products that you expect from a hotel breakfast; everything is of good quality. The wifi is mostly satisfactory. The shower is usable but far from generous. The location is central and in walking distance from everthing you may want, including restaurants of various qualities and prices. 
That said, its is all very, very, very simple. This oldest hotel in the delightful Brotas did not make any effort over the decades to add to its old ways. Amennities are almost non existant. There is not a common area worth of spending any time. 
You may want to consider that if it is raining, or you want to play cards with the family, or anything really, all there is is the room. One can do better with a little charm
