Cambara Do Sul

It's too expensive for what it offers! A place too simple, an electric shower, no TV with an open channel and a bathroom with plastic curtains in the box. The worst thing for me was breakfast it's served in the room and left the night before or it's nothing fresh, nothing done on time! An inn of R400.00 a day should have an infinitely superior service.

I wouldn't recommend it.

The hostel is simple, no servants, excellent cost benefit, located in the center, you can walk to the city's shops, shops and restaurants. The room is cozy, clean, hot shower, hot and cold air, has a safe. The bed is good and pillows too. It has room service every day. In the room there is a dishwasher with electric kettle, coffee, chocolate, tea and so on you can serve whenever you want, and you can also have your breakfast there, as it is served in the room. The breakfast is quite full. The hostel owner Mrs. Erika was very nice and treated us very well!

Every year I go to Cambará, and I always choose the Ecological Village! I believe it is an excellent price/benefit option! impeccable rooms, rustic and tasteful furniture, located on a hill! In the center of the city! Close to various restaurants and shops! I feel comfortable there... hot shower, king size bed, hair dryer, flavor dispenser, split, tasty coffee!

Erika is an excellent hostess, the rooms are simple, welcoming and tasteful!

Simple but excellent bed. Large room, large and excellent bed, very good pillow. Bathroom with very hot water, only sinks by the curtain instead of the box. It has a kettle and fridge in the room. The air conditioning is also warm, essential for the cold of the region. The car wash is in front of the room. Breakfast is served in a basket, very good, only a natural juice (there is an omelette) is missing.

That's great.

The room is a decent size, the bed is big enough for 3 and the mattress comfortable.  It was slightly cold but the whole of Cambará was freezing and the air con heats as well as cools.

Cannot fault the breakfast at all, sumptuous it was, breads, warm pão de queijo and waffles, cakes and jams and preserves from a local artisan maker.  Fresh coffee and crucially for me black tea!

Wifi worked fine as did the shower and the fridge, we were out visiting the canyons so didn't watch the TV.  For me it would be useful to have a kettle in the room to make tea/coffee but this is not normal in Brazil so I say it only because I am used to it and find it good.

Erica speaks very good English as well so can cater to all needs.  I understand she does good evening meals too but as we were away we didn't like not to be able to give her a time so we ate out when we were ready.

For the price you would struggle to find better.

We stayed there for the second time and it was just as good as the first.

Great breakfast, owners are very helpful the rooms are big, clean and cosy. 

We hope to see Erika and Augusto soon! They know everything there is to do in the area and all their tips were right to the spot.

Just great

Charming lodging. Very simple accommodation but very clean and smelling good. The shower although it is an electric one, is hot and good. 
Erika, the owner is a very friendly lady and makes you feel comfort. 
Honest breakfast with fresh bread and cakes. Try the jams...all of them...you will be surprised!

Simple place with charm.

We stayed for two nights and couldn't have asked for anything better. A great deal! We had two of the cabins, there are currently three, one more appears to be being built. We were greeted warmly by the owner who speaks great english. We had dinner at the hotel one night and it was very tasty, highly recommend! The cabins were spacious and you can tell a lot of thought went into design and decoration. Good location, right up the hill from the tourist office. Breakfast was fantastic. Perfect stay in Cambara do Sul

We stayed here in March 2012 for six nights, primarily to visit Parque Nacional da Serra Geral and Parque Nacional Aparados da Serra. Rose gardens complement the brightly coloured, rustic buildings perched on the side of a large grassy hill at the edge of the small city. The two guest rooms (more rooms are being built), are sound proof, beautifully decorated, and very clean with comfortable beds, hot showers, TV, mini-fridge and travel brochures. A heater as well as an electric blanket and a duvet keep visitors warm in the cool season. The view from the rooms at any time of the day over the city of Cambara do Sul is unbeatable. Our room rate included a very good breakfast served at our convenience. If you arrive by car, parking is at the doors of the guest rooms. 

The restaurant has a very relaxed, warm and homey atmosphere with a good view of the town and valley below.  Erika is a fantastic cook and is very accommodating if you want changes to the menu choices. The lunch and dinner menu was extensive and everything we chose over the 6 days was available and delicious.

Guides can be arranged through the B&B. For those who do not want a tour or guide both Erika and Augusto are very knowledgeable about activities and the logistics involved for visiting the many canyons and waterfalls in the area.

We would definitely stay here again.
