The hostel is located on the island of Gipoia, you will find it from Angra dos Reis. The hostel is very attentive. Here you can relax perfectly, everything is easy, the beach is very intimate with clear and warm water, they have kayaks and masks, Felipe accompanies you on a walk on foot to other beaches. the bungalow we chose was spacious, bath with bath and view. On the terrace there is a camastro and good sea view. The desyuno is a buffet, and the service is a buffet dinner, hot and cold dishes. In the stand you can have a coffee before going to bed, enjoying chats with other guests or with Stella, with a very calm climate.

A place of peace.

Fantastic place for rest and relaxation. Had a fantastic time with our young children (aged 4 and 6).

Stella (Manager) is a credit to the Poussada and extremely helpful with all our requests.

Needless to say, we will be going back!

Weekend break!

Located on the island of Gipoia (less popular near Isla Grande), está Pousada has everything for a total rest. Tourism is much more local than foreigners, so they speak little Spanish... but the willingness to make you feel like a queen is total. The accommodation is in a bungalow with everything necessary including air conditioning and refrigeration... a half boarding house where you can taste typical Brazilian dishes and exquisite delicacies from the hands of your two wonderful chefs... the staff is very friendly and procuran q todo sea is perfect. You can go kayaking and there is a restaurant on the same beach very rich!... it is worth noting that the caipirinhas of the Pousada are one of the best that you have tried. 100% recommended if you want to rest, especially on the bus, everything is perfect.

It is a paradise.

The staff is lazy and not helpful at all. And they don't speak English. 

Felipe ("the slave" of this pousada, they ask him to do everything) wants to do good but have no idea how to properly work in hospitality. 

 We asked for a laundry service and the women at the reception told us "how much do you want to pay". She then offered 100 euros for 1 bag and we dropped the price to 20 euros. The food at the restaurant is insufficient for all the guests. There is also another restaurant near by where the food is excellent but as it belongs to the pousada's owner, the prices are extremely high : 20 euros for 100gr of shrimps. 

We had the biggest room, the room is ok but the bathtub that they called a Jacuzzi is horrible, old and full of stains. No one would call that a jacuzzi. 

Now come the worst part : The beach. There are many boats parking on the water in front of the beach as the passenger go to the restaurant on the beach. These boats throw their garbage in the water so be sure there will be no fishes but only plastic bottles in the brownish beach. 

To go to the best beach (praia do dentista), you have to walk 1 hour (or more) inside the jungle with 100000 mosquitos. I would advise you take the canoes to go anywhere on the island. There is a nice church and beach about 15 mins walk from the pousada.

Horrible pousada in Paradise

We stayed 4 nights from 13.10 to 17.10.2016 with my wife staying in the yellow cabin, a charming guesthouse, staying on an island in the area of Angra Dos Reis, called Gipoia on the beach of Vitorino.The reception on the mainland on the beach of Bom Fim de Angra was arranged by Paulo, an extremely kind boy who during the entire stay was ready to serve us, help us and guide us along the trails of the island, during our hours on the beach, during breakfast and dinner and at the end of every hour, accompanied by magic.We also have a very good relationship with Stella Stella, who is willing to share and help us.We also have a very good relationship with her.

A charming posada is ideal for relaxing on a dream island.

We stayed last week with my husband. The inn, although not luxurious, is really a paradise. the attention they get from everyone there makes it unique. Andrea, Junior, the cook (who cooks like the gods) and the boy who took us for a walk!! the island has wonderful beaches and one of the guys in the inn takes you to meet them with a walk through. that is, just a walk and several hours to get to those beaches! so who can't walk or don't like it please don't go to this island. please, the inn offers a media service that is wonderful and also because I repeat again that it's a three island and there's nothing to go on!! but an excursion from this inn we have a few days to get to those beaches, and we recommend that the boys do not go to this island!

Excellent posture in the middle of a totally beautiful setting!!

This small hostel is located on the small and quiet beach of Vitorino on a magnificent island with clear waters, kayaks, snorkeling, good caipirinhas and rich homemade food.Andrea and Felipe are great hosts.The rooms are warm and spacious, the vegetation is amazing.

This is an excellent week.

My wife and I spent 5 days at the Pousada Canto do Hibisco in early September. The weather was great (average 78F ) and it didn't rain. 

We drove to Angra, and the hotel set us up on a parking lot close to the Pier where the boat takes you to the Island.

The hotel is located on the Gipoia Island, which is about 20 minutes away from Angra dos Reis.

This is a place for relaxation, for people who enjoys the nature, beaches and hiking. If you are looking to party and Nightlife, this is not the place for you to stay.

The island has a main trail that takes you all the way to the Praia do Dentista, which is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been. It is about 3 miles away from the hotel, which took us about 3 h back and forward from the hotel. Their staff will guide you half way into the trail. There are some really friendly dogs from the locals that will guide you all the way to the Paria do Dentista, it sounds crazy but it is really amazing.

Along this trail you will also find some awesome beaches and four restaurants. There is one restaurant that is located very close to the Hotel. The food is phenomenal, however it is kind of pricey. We spent about R$200 for the two of us for lunch without drinks. 

Once we step into the island their staff were already there waiting for us. It was truly a personalized service.

The manager, Andreia, was extremely kind and would ask us what type of food we would like to have for dinner. She arranges the boat trips, the guided hiking and pretty much anything else you need.  She also set us up with some healthy snacks for the hiking trips and would fill up our water bottles.

The hotel has complimentary snorkeling equipment and Kayaks. Since the ocean is very mellow, I have found it safe to kayak to other beaches around the hotel. 

We choose the package that included breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is more like a brunch. They cook eggs, pancakes plus many types of breads, lunch meat, juices, cheese, fresh fruits. You can also make yourself a sandwich to go for your hiking trip.

The dinner was really good. They pretty much cook different kinds of Brazilian food. We decided to have mostly seafood because you are in an island and it is extremely fresh. I think it was a good deal to get the dinner package because the restaurant is very pricey and if you decided t order from their menu it would be more expensive than the price we paid for the stay with the dinner included. Also it was always a lot of food, we had breakfast, our fruit snacks during lunch and then dinner. They also offer a complimentary afternoon coffee and cookies break. 

The only thing that we didn't like was the bed. It is a queen size bed, which is a good size however we have a very tough bed at home, and their mattress was very soft and kind of old. I think they need to replace that.

Their staff was really great and we were extremely satisfied with the service and the way they treat us. 

I will definitely come back to this true paradise.

Wonderful place to rest, enjoy nature with very good food and awesome service

My girlfriend and I both loved our stay at this pousada. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was wonderful. They were very helpful with arranging boat-trips around the islands and other activites we wanted to do.

One of the most surprising features were the delicious food, rivaling that of the nearby (expensive and renowned) restaurant. The island has 4 beaches within a walking distance of 3 km, on a beautiful trail taking you through the forests and along the coast of the island.

Highly recommended! (Bring sunscreen and mosquito-repellent)
