We stayed there for 3 nights before NYE and enjoyed our time. It was not very clean, but not too dirty as well. We had a 4 bed dorm with AC, there were security lockers and the staff was nice! The breakfast was okay. Would come back!

Good Hostel on a budget

I went with a friend and the place is nice,stuff was friendly,location is good ,it's in the south of the island really near to a beach,however is far away from other places.the breakfast was nice simple but nice.

We stayed on Florianopolis for nearly 3 weeks, and visited most of the place and stayed here for 2 weeks and a few days here and there at other hostels. This was my favourite hostel by far. Rooms could be little bit better and some improvements here and there but over all is a nice chilled out hostel. Its very close to the beach and a supermarket. There is two kitchens and wifi is very good. Showers are hot also. I didn't want to leave this place, felt like a home after a while. How hostels should be. Enjoy!

Nice chilled Hostel

Enjoyed a lovely relaxing few days here and actually booked an extra night as we liked it so much. The hostel is in a great location, a short walk from 3 beaches and 2 supermarkets and close to restaurants, walks and the lagoon. Transport links are excellent with a bus stop opposite where you catch buses that link to anywhere on the island. The bus stop for when you are going to the hostel is about 30m down the road from the hostel (the bus comes off the main road into Armacao so don't get off until you have passed the beach on the left, Lagoa do Peri on the right - green sign on the road & large wood & glass structure at the entrance - and the bus turns left. Retro House is on the corner where the bus turns).

Logan is a great host, anxious that you are enjoying yourself and he can help you plan your days and tell you which buses you need to catch. The hostel has recently reopened and he is busy getting it ready for the summer. There are lots of nice seating areas inside and out where you can relax. There are 2 kitchens although only the one inside was in use while we were there. There is also a swimming pool but we didn't have the time to try it out. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. It was huge and had a balcony overlooking the front garden. We enjoyed having the balcony but you might want to ask for a room at the back of you are a light sleeper as you can hear noise from the road and the buses run late/early. Breakfasts were good and overall the hostel is excellent value for money. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and in Armacao.

Lovely relaxing place to stay

You're gonna meet beautiful people from everywhere. You're gonna stay at one of the most beautiful beach you ever saw. Lot's of music, party and friends! Relax and be young. Forget your watch forever. You'll never want to get back to your home.
