Hotel Villamaris is a very good option in Av. abolição, 10 minutes walking from Beira mar (I would say the most important avenue in Fortaleza). Rooms are small but clean, would be nice to have some windows. I have been during a very sensitive in Fortaleza (no bus available due to security reasons) and therefore was no staff around. Breakfast is basic but enough. 

Good choice 

We have stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. 
The recepcionist was very kind and helpful.
The room was extremely clean, with a king size bed.
Not enough room for the suitcases but still a good condition for the quality/prize.
The location of the hotel was really good in one of the main roads in Fortaleza- Aboliçao.
The hotel’s breakfast was very good and also the facilities. We had a mini fridge in the room.
All in all has been a really good experience and wouldn’t mind to stay here again.

Nice Hotel, Very Clean

It is a well located hotel (near beach), but the street is very busy and noisy. The hotel has a good cost-benefit, but the breakfast leaves a little to be desired. Rooms are clean and beds are confortable.

Business travel

Stayed here in 12days during the world cup.

Here are my impressions:
The rooms and hotel are quite small, and the location is just in front of a heavily trafficked road.

The staff does not speak english, but they try to help as best as they can.

Breakfast was boring, especially when you stay here for a longer time.

The hotel is clean.

This is a three star hotel and you should not expect anything more.

Nothing Special

We stayed at the hotel during the World Cup. Price was way too high, but that was expected. The location of the hotel is very good, close to the Beira Mar and Meireles with restaurants, beach etc. The hotel rooms are ok, though very small and with uncomfortable beds. Generally, the hotel is very clean. The hotel service varies depending on who is working, ranging from very good to poor. Few speak english. Breakfast is ok. And annoying part was that room keys had to be "renewed" every day, although it seemed random whether they would work or not (sometimes had to renew twice a day). All in all, not a very good hotel, and if traveling back to Fortaleza again would stay somewhere else.
