I arrived and chose the hostel as they had lots of space and air there are no booking fees, but she charged me 10R more than it was on booking.com and I was after a 17 hour journey so I didn’t object. The owner Selena said there was no wholewheat bread for breakfast but they make tapioca and eggs on request Their breakfast wasn’t vegetarian friendly/ they put ham on cheese on the same plate and refused to make tapioca but made salty eggs with lots of margarine. I bought açai pulp which she said was fine and I put it in freezer. The next evening the man working saw me take it and thought I was stealing but he couldn’t speak English. He insisted I put it down and write back on his Spanish keypad with google translate when my açai was melting. It wasn’t fair and I didn’t have a supermarket receipt. On the third day they handed me a plate of cheese when I hadn’t made the request and then argued that I couldn’t have eggs because it’s either cheese, eggs or ham when 2 are self service. They claimed that was the owners orders when she had said no such thing. I already had my own crackers and previous days ate white bread and cake which made me feel awful. When I saw she took a tablespoon of margarine for a one egg omelette  I realised why it had been so stodgy and I said ‘no, use a tiny bit of oil’. There’s no need for it to be made in the least healthy way possible and affect my health. I was hungover, and even the filter tap was off limits as they were working in that area. She asked if I’m leaving and I said I’m probably staying. She stood over me for over 2 hours using google translate and I said I’m not packing up when I’m likely staying- it was only 9 but then it really was checkout time at 12. Id had little sleep as they forgot to put the air con at night before they left. I lost my swim shorts hanging them out and had no other and couldn’t go to the beach. They wouldn’t ask the Argentinian guests if they took them by mistake and when I asked they said no without checking when I hung them on the same line and moved the drying stand when it started raining at 3am. On the island they won’t let you use their laundry machines on principle. She said to hand wash- but I couldn’t get a sink, plug or bucket. The soap dispenser was empty. I asked the guy and he said it wasn’t included. I thought that was a mistake as he seemed dense so asked her. She ‘helpfully’ told me to buy soap- wow who would have thought of buying every possible thing you need at each hostel you go to? They shouldn’t have soap dispensers then! Public toilets include soap. On the last day she made the bill 51 instead of 50 so it wouldn’t look like a double transaction- of course more than less 🙄 So unwaveringly and shamelessly one sided. When I told her what had happened, she said it was a language barrier- no apology. Yet she said that every day the menu is different- but eggs were always on request and she said I could have them when I first came. There was no compromise and all lies and excuses. She said I would be allowed eggs next morning, but they still were difficult and yelled and me when I took coffee and laughed. I cried at that point. There was a Brazilian guy who wasn’t vegetarian and he got eggs without any problem. I was catching the 9am ferry and they have no right to harass me. It’s not my problem that there aren’t  able to communicate in English after years of being around foreigners and have 3 hours of them standing on top of me with google translate- ironically that’s why I ended up staying. I had such a hangover and that pressure made me disorientated - it was exhausting. They cash in on inconveniencing you- I went and paid 30R later for an omelette meal which was cooked veggie friendly- they limited my only 2 protein options when I couldn’t eat most of what was there. I’m fed up of such nonsense and bullying because I don’t eat meat. It’s  traumatic for me when I’m being bullied out of eating what I’m allowed. Shameless, bad business.

Not for English speakers

The hostel has separate rooms designed for each guest. Most of them have a private bathroom which makes it very comfortable. They all have wifi and air conditioning. The cleanliness is very good and the facilities are very neat. It has an indoor patio with lots of waves to read, eat, mate, etc. The hostel/posada is very well located a few blocks from the port and close to the main square. It is a few meters from the fountain where you can find various gastronomic options. The breakfast is very complete and has delicious things sweet and salads (incredible the coconut cake and homemade sausages). It is a little far from the beach but the morro is ideal for walking and spending hours in the chosen beach. The hosts of the hostel are very friendly and active. The breakfast can be prepared in a few hours every day with a quick cooking form.

We went to a motel and stayed in a hostel with the intention of meeting people and being able to have the freedom to move around and above all to cook and nothing like that happened! We also chose this option for economic and when we were on our way we checked elsewhere and it was charismatic how much we paid for the service they gave us!!!! The hostel facilities are fine, safan! but the cleaning is not daily and being a beach destination is a disaster as there was no sand in the room and we didn't ask for anything to clean nor did they give us anything to clean. We liked the breakfast. The kitchen could be used up until 9 p.m. What we were limited to cooking and the only time we felt our cleaning was because at 9 p.m. we had to clean up the hostel!!! The kitchen was a mess, and we almost knew a lot less people, and we almost had to go to the kitchen!!

NO ES HOSTEL and ENCIMA is very expensive!

The staff is friendly.The hostel is clean (it's not a pousada).The breakfast is poor.There's no reggae but Argentine rock.The clientele is very young.The infrastructure is correct.We paid too much for this hostel.

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights. In this touristy place we found this place amazing as it is located in a little street away from the craziness. The people that hosted us were incredible nice ~ he gave us a lot of information about the history of Morro, which was really interested. He was an artist that created the portal at the beginning of the local street and his inspiration came from the fountain which is build in the 1600 around the colonization. Worth it a look and definitely a visit :) 

Peaceful and learning

Me and my friends decided to travel last minute. We look for an inexpensive and well rated place by the guests. The hostel is not near the entrance of the island, it is much more hidden, but with several interesting places close by, such as market and restaurants. When I arrived I was enchanted by the mood of the place, Bob Marley singing in the background and the team welcoming us. Our room was on the second floor, being necessary to climb stairs, which is not very pleasant for anyone with large and heavy suitcases. We liked the room, which we shared with two Argentine girls. The bathroom is a bit stuffy, but nothing that would disrupt the stay. The breakfast is delicious and varied. At all times someone from the team was available to welcome us and guide us wherever possible. In short: the 3-day stay was great thanks to the competition, organization and good vibe of the place. great price, great atmosphere.  
For those who enjoy reggae it will be a surprise to see the wooden chairs carved with great names of the music. The rooms are named after bands and famous reggae singers.

A trip to the world of root reggae

I stayed here with my wife for a week and we can warmly recommend this hostel, with a super friendly staff and cool relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced makes this the best option of all budget options in this crowded lovely amazing part of the wold.

Nice and Clean Hostel with a great atmosphere!!

I slept in this hostel with a group. The bedrooms are clean, the shower room is good too. And the place itself is amazing. There are lot ouf colours. The staff is always here and is very nice. There is a cool reggae atmosphere. It's great. And the Island is amazing too.

One of the best hostel in the world

I came here looking for a change, coming from the horror of the little house where I spent one night and didn't like it at all; for the same price, I found comfort and tranquility. Reggae is a very complete hostel, the room in the qu estuve is super spacious, there are percheros, curtains for the beds below, garbage dumps, lockers, refrigerator, air conditioning and TV. In addition to being super clean (everything that wasn't in the other hostel). EL WIFI! excellent. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is very varied, the owner Rasta, always attentive to the needs of the people. There was a luxury stay of the qu qu qu hostels of the morro hotels and definitely the best one. The last night in Cheeburg was definitely the best one. The last night in Cheeburg 3: there was a hotel in which all the hotels in Cheeburg were located, but the rest of the cabinets in Cheeburg was definitely available, and all the rooms in Cheeburg were very quiet.

The best hostel in Morro!!

The hostel is very close to the port, barely 2 or 3 blocks away. If you arrive with little luggage or with a backpack, it is not worth hiring a taxi driver (they take you in a cart to your accommodation). Some can be very insistent. When you arrive at the central plaza, take the Fonte Nova street to the right. When you arrive at the fountain (it is only a square) to your left you will see a sign of the hostel and a staircase that takes you. The hostel is simple but correct. I stayed in a private room. It has a private bathroom, air conditioning and a TV. The breakfast is simple but well (in other hotels in Brazil are usually more abundant). The owner's attention is good. There is a clean room. The room that is opposite the resorts is the only place to play (the resorts are very close to the beach), but it is only a short walk away from the beach.
